You know what? I have a lot of friends at Highlands. I do wish them the best....no where did I backtrack anything. Like I said at the end of my post, BGHS HAS what it takes to pull this off and I know they can do it. The "both teams are winners" is not a speech at all. Sorry you can not look at any other team than Highlands...seems like you might not be as secure as what YOU think you are in your team...I don't have to cut down someone else or their team, that shows how secure I am. I will defend these young Purples men, however, because they are a GREAT group of young men as well as athletes. And, like I said before, the only reason why I answered your thread yearlier is because it is mighty rude to assume that Highlands and BG are the only two teams left....they are not and do have yet another game left.....If you are rude to other teams, which consist of young men....kids...it can be heartbreaking for them!!!! I say good luck to ALL FOUR TEAMS!!!!! And yes I stand behind our young men 100%!!!!!

I never cut down your team or said anything bad about one of them. I am a Highlands fan, this is true. No, I do not think that HHS will just walk through next week to the state game. I am not being rude to anyone. You said your piece on here, I simply said mine. I know the rules, I am not about to break them for you or anyone. I am sorry that you feel the way that you do and it is unfortunate that you are bringing the kids into this conversation. I never mentioned them once. You stated that Highlands would receive a beating, I disagreed.

Not going to take the bait! Good luck to all the teams and no matter who wins or loses, all of the young men have nothing to be ashamed of. Everyone of them have done a great job!!!!

Go Purples!!!!!:dancingpa:dancingpa:dancingpa:dancingpa

Play to have fun and build memories!!!

I am leaving this thread because I do not want to offend any of the young men who are playing or my Highlands friends. Just because I don't answer does not mean I do not support my Purples or think they are not going to win Bring the title home Purples!!!

I love all this BG-Highlands talk....

:fire:

I won't even predict the BG/Owensboro game because it's too close to call. Both are great teams....should be a great game. Obviously, Highlands has Lincoln County beat already so I'll say the title game will be Highlands and either BG or Owensboro!

I would love to see a rematch of the 1995 State Title game but this time, Highlands will avenge the loss to the Purples. BG beat HHS pretty well in that which was Dale's first year at HHS. You think he has forgotten that? I think not. I am sure it is burning in the back of his mind like a painful winter itch.

I wont say the outlandish predictions of 35-point victory, but I do have the Birds coming out on top this time.

You are pretty right on with your post except that 95 was Dale's 2nd season at HHS!!!:D In 1994 they lost to CovCath at the goal line in the playoffs if my memory serves me right!!!

I want to go ahead and make another prediction....Highland fans will trash talk and think nobody can beat them want to play Bowling Green but won't and will have to wait another year to see #17 hoisted by anyone in a blue and white uniform. I really like people that think their team is so good that they are going to run all over everybody kind of like LSU fans this year and well they are watching someone else play for the title. If you do get to play Bowling Green you will still have to wait another year for #17!!!

There are 2 other teams playing in this thing and I am sure glad they have already lost so I will not have to waste my money.

Are you backtracking now after your bold statement of how "Dale will remember this beating too." You seem to be changing your tune a little. I know that there is another game to play. I have nothing but full confidence in my team. I know that they will win this coming week. I also know that they will not look past this very good LC team. You are sweet to give the ole' "I think both teams are winners" speech. I only look for one winner on December 7th. It will be the Birds tying Trinity for # 17the most titles in KY history and moving into sole possession of 5th in the country in most wins by a program if they haven't already. Go Birds!!!
The problem here is that, what you might see as absolute confidence, others could interpret as arrogance.

In my mind, the state championship is still only an unattained goal. It is not pre-ordained, and is not going to be handed to the Birds. The only thing that is real and tangible at this moment is that we need to beat Lincoln County this Friday. That's all that matters, and that should be the team's total focus.

You do realize that the people that post on BGP have ZERO bearing on what happens on the field, right? If fans don't think they're team will win it all every year, would they still be considered fans?

BTW, I will have to warn you that if HHS wins it all this year...this post will be used against you...:D

Thanks for getting my back sticky! I am not trying to sound like an arrogant HHS fanatic. I was just a little perturbed that Mrs Purple said that Dale was going to get a beating. It's kinda like when someone says that they are going to beat up someone in your family. You get a little protective. I don't have to be protective because my family member that is on the team cann take care of himself. He has twice the strength and intelligence that I ever had. CATS testing proves that!

Just know that in all the games that I have watched this year, HHS did not ever quit. Especially in the Central game when we were all getting pretty nervous, they hung in there. It takes a special kinda bird to be able to go out and fend for themselves. I guess these Bluebirds are big enough now to leave the nest on their own and don't need our protection and guidance anymore(seniors). Go Birds, I hope that you can show all these non-believers what I have witnessed this year. It ties in with that quote that Dale has said many years at the beginning of each season, "This is one of the best Highlands football teams ever!" Dale I believe you this year. This is one of the best Highlands football teams ever. There is no quit in them.

...the best part of it is that it can be all be settled on the field. And that is where I have supreme confidence in HHS!

Did I miss something?"Highlands has Lincoln County beat already"? Has Lincoln forfeited, have they chose not to drive north friday night?

No, the game has not been played yet. But, unlike the HHS players, I am looking ahead. As a fan, that is my right. I have the utmost confidence in the Birds. I do know that our players will be/already are focused on LC. In no way should anyone take the ridiculous ramblings of my posts as a thought that a HHS player would have. I will be the first to say that those boys are focused and on a mission.

So Boone County is comparable to Highlands? Not buying it. Echoing NCC06...no one touches Highlands.

Not saying Highlands isn't the favorite, and very well may end up state champion.

But any team that can travel all the way from Owensboro to Boone County and while missing their star running back therefore not sustaining long drives, but still held Boone County to 3 points is a worthy team. And they may not make the finals.

Highlands has really only had problems in one game and that was with Louisville Central, but that game shows that at least some team can play with them.

Plus obviously with Highlands you must stop the run first and Owensboro certainly did that against Boone County.

Boone has one exceptional back and HHS has five really good backs...You stop Faris you win. HHS has alot more than just one guy...and I know you know that.:thumb:
