Good team, but can't shake the fact that they have choked in Louisville the last two seasons - and this Highlands team is better than LexCath or CovCath the last couple years.

 

3. Owensboro

Could beat BG, but not good enough offensively in my opinion

 

4. Lincoln County

Solid team, but will be outclassed in Fort Thomas

If you saw Owensboro shut down Boone County you might not believe that so strongly. And there is a pretty good chance Owensboro might not even be good enough to make the final.

So Boone County is comparable to Highlands? Not buying it. Echoing NCC06...no one touches Highlands.

Highlands would have to be the favorite. They just have to many Offense of weapons, and when I seen Connor run the ball tonight , I realized that he was more than likely the best runningback in the state.

This should just be the "Let's talk about Highlands Football" thread... clearly the Birds are the overwhelming favorite -- funny how the Birds are so great at self-promotion considering who started this thread! :jump:

 

Actually, I am picking Highlands, too.. best of luck to getting number 18... or is it 17? Geez, the rich just keep getting richer when it gets too hard to count that high! But unlike Warren Buffet who becomes a couple billion richer each year and he hardly even notices it, I am sure that Highlands finds every championship to be special. Again, good luck Birds.

Like stated above, HHS beats BC by 21 on a bad day, BC maybe the 2nd best team in NKY but they are the gap between one and two is a bunch.

Highlands is easily the favorite in this years Class 5A. Not a bad class of football, its just that the BlueBirds are that good. Bowling Green IMO is the only one who could give the BlueBirds a competitive game with there athletes and talent but have seemed to choke as one poster said previously. Good luck to all remaining.

I hope we get the chance to show that we can play with anybody. Owensboro has a ton of defensive talent and speed on D. You can win a game with 1 TD if the other team can not move the ball. Good Luck to Highlands as if they need it. Play the lower teir and let 2 3 and 4 eliminate each other so you only have to play one of them. If you spank everybody I wil eat crow but right now I am not buying it until you win!

HHS has been #1 all year. Shouldn't it be the other teams battling it out to see who gets to play the #1 team. Oh wait, I guess Highlands is ducking all the "good" teams. The KHSAA took pity on the 'Birds and set it up so they could cakewalk to the title game.

I don't think Highlands has the easiest path to the championship. If you put the Pulaskis , Letcher, Johnson Central, Lincoln teams in the West, they would have an impact on who comes out of the west. That being said, Highlands is the favorite to win....the championship.
