Boone has one exceptional back and HHS has five really good backs...You stop Faris you win. HHS has alot more than just one guy...and I know you know that.:thumb:

I think that HHS has so much depth that there is a chance that we haven't even seen some of the talent they have on their team. I guess we will have to wait till next year. That's the great thing about being a HHS fan. They never rebuild, just reload.

To clarify things, I never said that we were going to give anyone a beating.....14-11 is not a beating and could be even closer than that!!!!!

I wish that all Highlands people could be as cool as my BGP Family that are Highlands fans. They know that I was not just saying words when I was wishing them luck and saying that the TWO teams that go to the Palace are winners....infact, all FOUR TEAMS are winners in my eyes. BG nor Highlands are there yet, there is one more game to play. I will not put pressure on the boys to win because they are already winners. As long as they do their best, which I know they will, they will have nothing to be ashamed of if they do not pull off the W! I just know in my heart that they can do this and will give it their best shot.

I am not going to be construed as not standing by our boys, nor will I be called out in every thread. I stand behind the boys because they play this game not for money, but, for the love of the game. We, as adults, should be so lucky as to act like the boys do.

I am really sorry that I quoted anyone. Those who know me and know my "humor" know that I was not cutting down anyone. Infact, in the post where I did do the quote, I did say SERIOUSLY and posted other things.

Good luck to all teams!!!!

GO PURPLES!!!!!

Not saying Highlands isn't the favorite, and very well may end up state champion.

But any team that can travel all the way from Owensboro to Boone County and while missing their star running back therefore not sustaining long drives, but still held Boone County to 3 points is a worthy team. And they may not make the finals.

Highlands has really only had problems in one game and that was with Louisville Central, but that game shows that at least some team can play with them.

Plus obviously with Highlands you must stop the run first and Owensboro certainly did that against Boone County.

Boone County has but one running threat, Farris. Highlands has a minimum of 3 running threats at all times in the backfield. Add a couple very talented wideouts, that may be in motion, and you have as many a 5 excellent running threats on any given play. There is no comparison when looking at Boone County and Highlands offenses.

Well, we actually have to get through the Dungeon first. However, I do think that we will get through that. It should be another very close game. However, after we get out of the Dungeon, we go to the Palace to meet Highlands (I think they will pull off a win as well).

At the Pizza Palace, I do think you will see a rematch of that game. It will be a closer rematch, however, I do think the outcome will be the same. The Purples will be the first team to beat Highlands twice in the State Championship game. No, I don't think Dale has forgotten the beating, and he will not forget this one either!!!! I think he should seek medical help for that painful winter itch that is burning in the back of his mind!!!!!

Seriously, I like both teams a lot, however, I have to pull for Bowling Green....not just because they are my team, but because they do have what it takes to pull it off. They have been to the Palace several times and not walked away with the win. I don't think you will see this this time.

No matter, we will not know the outcome until the game is played. Both Highlands and Bowling Green have to play one more game before we can even think about this one. Got to take it one game at a time. Good luck to both teams in their game and hope to see both at the Palace. IF they both get there, good luck to both teams....both teams deserve the win. No matter who does not pull off the win, the two teams that get to the Palace need to be VERY proud just to have gotten there in the first place!!!!

Both teams have the "ITCH" however, sometimes an itch can't be reached.

Go Purples.....you have what it takes to bring home the title!!!!!

Play to have fun and build memories!!!!!

Are you sure about that?

"To clarify things, I never said that we were going to give anyone a beating....."?

Are you sure about that?

She used the word "beating" as in "defeating." You need to let this go now FTBIGBIRD.
Easy now. You really think Pulaski/Letcher/Johnson could beat Owensboro/John Hardin/Bowling Green? Have you seen those teams play? Lincoln is the number four team left in Class 5A by a lot. They can compete with Highlands, but it will take a herculean effort for them to win.

Honestly, have you seen Ownesboro/John Hardin/Bowling Green/ play? All Modok stated was that LC/PC/JC would have an effect on the West if they were in that Semi-state. I don't see what he needs to take it easy about.

While Lincoln County has never beaten Highlands (0-2), we have never lost to Owensboro (1-0) or Bowling Green (2-0).

Yes, but there is only one ball in play each down. Is there a difference if Farris carries 50 times for 300 yards or if Highlands has three guys carry 50 times for 300 yards? Other than the injury possibility and fatigue where depth is important? Both teams have good offenses that can score and accumulate yards. Both can be limited somewhat (as any team can including Trinity) by a good defense. Granted Highlands does have mutiple weapons and more than BC, but if stopping Farris were all it took to beat BC lots of teams would have done that by now.

As for comparisons see below. Highlands scores more points 533 to 425, Boone Co runs for more yards (4050 to 3596) and Highlands passes for more yards (1409 to 1321).

BC:

Team Total Statistcs

(Season-to-Date) Points Scored 425

Points Allowed 257

Total Rushing Yards 4050

Total Rushing Yards Allowed 1350

Total Passing Yards 1321

Total Passing Yards Allowed 1866

Highlands:

Team Total Statistcs

(Season-to-Date) Points Scored 533

Points Allowed 125

Total Rushing Yards 3596

Total Rushing Yards Allowed 1443

Total Passing Yards 1409

Total Passing Yards Allowed 1457

Yes, there is a huge difference. Like I said before stop Farris and you win..The differnce is you have to prepare for alot of different players rather than just one...:thumb:

Is Boone Co. 5a? Come on guys ...stick to the thread?

I would love to see Lincoln Co. win it all, but in reality it will be a Bowling Green/Highlands Championship game. A toss-up between those two big boys.

Never know what can happen during playoffs. PH has told me a few stories! Good luck to guys!!!!

The point is that 5A Owensboro which is one of the 4 teams still alive limited Boone Co. in a 14-3 win at Boone Co.

Purples bring home the Trophy to Corvette country....

OK first off I just want to say that scores do not mean anything but for comparison purposes I want to bring into point that Owensboro and Bowling Green have no common opponents but Owensboro and Highlands do that being Hoptown both teams played them at home Highlands beat them 42-8 and Owensboro beat them 34-0. Both teams beat Hoptown by 34 points showing that both teams can score on teams Highlands gave up 8 points don't know how but did Owensboro's defense gave up a big fat goose egg. What does this mean well Owensboro can definately hold any team in check Highlands probably can too and probably gave up the 8 points with their JV team in the game. All being said it is good that you love your team and if I had gone there or lived there I may root for them too but if you look at the teams left in the playoffs I could probably make a gripe for all of them and in all right because the 4 teams left have been at the top of the rankings all year with the exception of John Hardin that could still be left had they not had to play BG last week. How good would that final 4 been. I would say too that the JH BG game could have went the other way as well looking at the updates posted. So with that said root for your team but give the other teams the respect they deserve. OK here is my gut feeling Highlands will probably win it all and probably should, they will probably end up playing BG but very easily could play Owensboro and that mean and speedy defense. Lincoln Co. I do not know much about but must be pretty good to have made it this far with only one lose. I will also say that I can also see BG and Owensbro winning it all as well and if either of those teams play anyone other than Highlands at the pizza house I would be surprised. Did I cover it all? IF not let me know what I missed and I will update my post. Remember I am not knocking any of these teams because they are all good in their own right and any of them have an even chance of winning until the game has actually been played.
