IMHO, outstanding coaching and preparation YEAR-ROUND + excellent scouting, game-planning and PASSING prowess are the keys to T's success. I agree it is not the inherent athletic ability that wins championships for T. I say - everyone needs to work smarter and harder to catch up to that level and not complain about enrollment, fan's attitudes (which seem just fine to me), private/public, etc. Boone, like most teams, falls well short in the above-mentioned keys to success. That's why T will handily defeat Boone, especially at T.

Problem is you just can't decide to do it after not doing it all year.

 

If you have watched the Rebels this year the coaching staff uses Farris as a blocking back for extra pass protection in obvious passing situations. Huh???

 

I think you could find plenty of other BC players that can pass block. Why not split him out wide or circle him out of the backfield for a pass? Why not try it? He was a wide receiver at times as a Soph and was quite good at it.

 

Why not go three or four wide when up by 21 in a game in the second or third quarters? Why run the ball 14 straight times in that situation? Yeah you will probably score to go up 28 but why not become more balanced?

 

I think you go with what you do well and what you practice. So many buy into the malarky that you have to "Out Trinity" Trinity by throwing the ball. X completed 2 passes in their win earlier this year. Note every time a team runs the ball, that's another minute that T's offense sits and waits and another minute the defense rests.. If running is what BC does well, then line up and do that well and play defense. Let Trinity be the unbalanced team, pass first and abandon the run in their two losses. How many go both ways on BC?

Again, BC will not score 33 on us....they have barely covered half of that ONCE against us.
