Not a great comparison. Boone has shown year in and year out, that they are the class of NKY 6A (former 4A), with that NKY big class doesn't play the same style that we down here play. We are THE MOST BALANCED team in 6A, and we use that very effectively. That said, we have to play great to pull this game out. Go Rocks, take state.

I do not understand why Boone County teams (Ryle included) have such a lack of balance. Perhaps it's contentment with just getting to the big game instead of winning the big game. Boone has some nice athletes but has ZERO chance to beat Trinity with typical BC play calling. Perhaps Boone's coaches will give their players a chance by mixing it up, passing to Farris, the TE, a mix of receivers, throwing on running downs, 50/50 mix, etc., but it's hard to become a balanced team when you don't work on it during games. Best of luck to BC as all of us up here would like to see a huge upset. You will need to force many TO's to hang around with an excellent team like the Rocks that are 5-6 TD favorites.

Shelby scored 35 just using the pass, Trinity will bring the same type of passing attack but can also get it going on the ground. This game would have to be real low scoring for BC to have any chance.

Boone will need to use the surprise play-calling element and pass on running downs and vice versa all throughout the game to begin to have a chance in this one. T is extremely disciplined and scouts very well and will stop the same old same old with no trouble. Farris barely had 100 yards vs. Ryle and Campbell (second games) and T will stuff the run. Problem is you just can't decide to do it after not doing it all year.

 

If you have watched the Rebels this year the coaching staff uses Farris as a blocking back for extra pass protection in obvious passing situations. Huh???

 

I think you could find plenty of other BC players that can pass block. Why not split him out wide or circle him out of the backfield for a pass? Why not try it? He was a wide receiver at times as a Soph and was quite good at it.

 

Why not go three or four wide when up by 21 in a game in the second or third quarters? Why run the ball 14 straight times in that situation? Yeah you will probably score to go up 28 but why not become more balanced?

Trinity has never put 70 up on us anytime. GO REBELS

Neither Stud!! Just quite proud of where we come from. In Northern Kentucky (football territory) in our state. If Boone or any other N.ky football progam in 6A had the enrollment than you pick from (all Male school) we could compete somewhat more efficiently.
