Maybe you're too young to remember it (just guessing.) If it had been just an accidental drowning, it probably wouldn't have been a big deal. However, Ted has been accused of everything up to and including premeditated murder, covered up by the local police which were in the pockets of the Kennedys. Ted Kennedy didn't even serve the mandatory time for the charge he plead guilty to.
