TonyDanza
Ok...I have always wanted to know out of all the Heisman winners who went on to have a great pro career(s)? Who flopped? I know some on the list need no explanation. The reason I ask is because while I know it is an honor to be nominated but does winning really make a difference?? Before any of you jump on the signing bonus, blah, blah, crap. Think about it. One thing I have always thought....I would rather see a team have a great season rather than a Heisman canidate. Heisman Winners 1935 Jay Berwanger 1936 Larry Kelley 1937 Clint Frank 1938 Davey O'Brien 1939 Nile Kinnick 1940 Tom Harmon 1941 Bruce Smith 1942 Frank Sinkwich 1943 Angelo Bertelli 1944 Les Horvath 1945 Doc Blanchard 1946 Glenn Davis 1947 John Lujack 1948 Doak Walker 1949 Leon Hart 1950 Vic Janowicz 1951 Dick Kazmaier 1952 Billy Vessels 1953 John Lattner 1954 Alan Ameche 1955 Howard Cassady 1956 Paul Hornung 1957 John David Crow 1958 Pete Dawkins 1959 Billy Cannon 1960 Joe Bellino 1961 Ernie Davis 1962 Terry Baker 1963 Roger Staubach 1964 John Huarte 1965 Mike Garrett 1966 Steve Spurrier 1967 Gary Beban 1968 O.J. buzzer beater
Troy Smith isn't look so good either... who did he go to? He has Steve McNair in front of him. It's sad to see one bad game throw away an enitre career.
buzzer beater
Where is Weinke at?? Also White from Oklahoma was a big flop. Does he even play football now??
ladiesbballcoach
To me, Archie Griffin is the biggest flop. He is the ONLY guy to ever win it twice. That should say he was one of the best RB's ever in college football. And he was nothing in the pros.

That should say he was one of the best RB's ever in college football. And he was nothing in the pros. Griffin just played 7 years in the NFL. He rushed for 2,808 yards and 7 TD's in those 7 years. I know not crazy stats but still. He isn't the biggest flop of all the players named.

TonyDanza
What happened after 1990? I think it is partly because money has become more important than anything else.
