Be Honest...How many wanted Brooks fired 2 years ago?

Featured Replies

I wanted him gone at first, but just because it didn't seem like anything was progressing. I am glad to see that he has progressed and got some pretty good players to come to UK, and hopefully he will keep this trend up. I will say that he is a very emotional coach on the sidelines and he always sticks up for his players.

I was not one of those calling for his head. I had no clue if he was the guy or not but I did know that it was too early to make that decision.

I was one of them.

A few honest souls. But the haters outnumbered the lovers just 2 years ago.

In addition, many were on Mitch Barnhardt's case. Now with Brooks (who looks like the perfect hire now) and Billy G, it appears that UK has an AD who understands the kind of coaches UK needs.

I certainly questioned if he was the right man, to turn the program around. Like I stated on another thread, shows how much I know about coaching football. The 'Cats are certainly competitive, which was a point of contention on my part and I believe, have won 9 of the last 10 games.

Coach Brooks deserves the credit and has brought in a much better support staff of coaches. He has went out and recruited much better, than I ever thought possible.

Well done Coach Brooks.....:thumb: I was wrong.

I called for his head from day 1. I never in my wildest dreams thought he would ever get it done and I was wrong. Go back to the hire and I still say at the time he did not look like much of a choice. He was out of the game, older, not from this part of the country and had a only so so record out in Oregon.

Go back and read my posts I have always been in Coach Brooks corner! No one could have done a better job considering what he walked into!

Ahhh...it brings back memories of our debates about Rich Brooks and Tubby Smith.

Not sure I wanted him fired, but he was a great target for two years of geriatric jokes...

.....:D You're still wrong.

As I chew on crow that tastes very sweet, I humbly admit that I was temporarily mistaken about Coach Brooks.

Although my contention was wanting a coach that would take us through the next 10-15 years. Not sure that he is still that guy. But he is doing a great job.

Ooh, nice link Buck.

OldRambler and RaiderBird, please pick up the "white courtesy phone." :p:D
