Back to the game. 124 yds passing for the Birds on limited attempts is a boon for the O. One thing we're not hearing this year is "one dimensional" and predictable. All of the WRs have really stepped it up. Good job guys:thumb:

cshs81, I like ya bud......I agree it's tough. But just to let you guys know, I'm not new around here. I've been reading this board since it started in 2001, just never posted on here much. Always liked sitting back and hearing people's perspectives. Also had an old account, Colonel4Life, yet in past year haven't been on here as much so that account got deleted I guess. If you remember, I sent pictures in from my tour overseas two summers ago. Just wanted to clear that up. Don't want people to think I'm some young punk running my mouth. Agreed with all of the above. I think CovCath may be "down" for a couple of years, but they will bounce back to the top really soon.

 

I think that the class of 2011 will turn out to be a very strong class, with good players from the typical feeders and also a stud from St. Henry and I think a good QB from somewhere in Campbell.

 

No matter how you look at it, the future is bright at CovCath, and the present it getting better.

Any one else notice the really heads up play that Clay Cecil made while playing qb? If someone else has already posted about it, I apologize. Clay is left handed. He's rolling out to his right, getting chased by a couple of CovCath guys. His receivers are covered. Right before he gets forced out of bounds, which would have resulted in a loss of yards, he switches the ball to his right hand (he couldn't have thrown it with his left hand because of the proximity of the CovCath guys chasing him) and as he leaps into the air as he is headed out of bounds, throws it at the feet of his receiver. Avoids an interception, avoids illegal grounding, avoids a possible fumble and avoids a loss of yards. Very heads up play by the young man. Well done.

 

I was likewise impressed with the play of the CovCath qb when he was just about sacked, but maintained the composure to push pass the ball to Furnish, whom converted it into a first down. Also a very heads up play. Well done to him also.

At 1st I thought Clay had fumbled. Then realized he had passed it with his right hand. Clay is as as cool as they come. I do think Simons run on the FG snap was huge. He didn't hesitate one second. As far as the CovCath QB play, man that was sheer desire. Great plays by all!

Given what we've seen from Highlands this year (i.e. solid O-line play, great ground attack, good QBing, some mixing it up on offense, good kicking game, and great linebacking play), I really do believe that how far the team goes this year is COMPLETELY up to the HHS players/coaches, meaning that only they can stop themselves this year. I really hope that HHS works harder on the TO issue, as it had an impact on the CCH game. I sure don't want HHS to have multiple TOs if they play CCH again, Woodford County, or certainly Bowling Green in the postseason.

They made an application to Kenton County Area Planning for temporary lights to be used two nights at the end of September.They will have the Senior night for soccer and football on this weekend. The application was approved. During a meeting with residents, CCH stated that this was not an attempt to install permanent lights, or even a trial run. They thought it would be something special and different to do for senior night. It definetly will be something cool for everyone. Kudo's to who came up with it.:thumb:

That will be a nice moment for the seniors and I agree that the people who made this happen deserve kudos.

I don't think he was hurt, I think he got a little overheated and dehydrated.

Was it me or was the concession on HHS putting some extra seasoning on all "food" products sold? What's up with the guy smoking a cigar in the concession for the entire game. Nice touch!:creepy:

Those CCH boosters really know how to do it right. not many places in NKY where you can get a grilled burger, mett or brat with all the fixins including sauteed peppers onions and mushrooms. Beats the boiled dogs or cold pizza served in Ft Thomas. The Birds have the better team this year but the Colonels are head and shoulders above when it comes to concessions.
