Injury is the big question with Brohm. He has missed a lot of games due to injuries. If I were a scout, I would have serious doubts about his ability to make it through an NFL season, when he doesn't seem to be able to make it through a college season. If he gets hurt again this year I don't see how he could go in the first round.

You might be correct, but if neither of these highly touted quarterbacks are successful in the NFL, then which quarterbacks in this class will be more successful?

Matt Ryan is the only one off the top of my head. I think the class is relatively weak - but then again, good QBs come few and far in between in the NFL, something most people overlook. Really think about how many good QBs there are in the NFL... not that many. Might be the toughest job to be good at in all of the world.

 

I am not saying I think they will be busts, but just from the "feel" test, I do not feel it from either one of them than being much more than just your average (to possibly just slightly above average) QB.

I can see him dropping similar to Leinart and Quinn...depending on how he does in his workouts. But, if scouts work him out and his arm strength and mobility fails to impress, his stock will drop.

 

Similar to Russell and Quinn...before the season, who had Russell ahead of Quinn...who even projected Russell as a first rounder, much less #1 overall. Same with Leinart...who would have thought Vince Young would go ahead of him going into that season...

 

...another reason why guys should go when their stock is high. Coming back for another season rarely helps. I'm not saying Brohm made the wrong decision, because if he wanted to come back and play because he enjoyed college, then that's great. He's going to be drafted, more than likely in round 1 regardless. I just think his stock could drop.

I'm inclined to agree on JaMarcus Russell and Brady Quinn, but not on Leinart and Young.

As defenses get more and more looks at VY, it is going to be hard for them to win games with 78 yards passing. I'm not sure Vince's ceiling is even as high as Vick got to, and that wasn't ever that great.

They're both really good, but I'll take Woodson.

Sometimes he gets a little Favre like, and will absolutely try to squeeze one in, which he does more often than not.....his mobility is not great, but is certainly enough...and he's about 2 inches short of ideal.

RP, with all due respect.... I do not mean this to insult you or your qb (Brohm), I really don't but any comparison or the mention of B. Favre and Brohm in the same breath is imo laughable. I would say the same if someone had mentioned Woodson in this as a comparison as well.

Among this group, I see an NFL wide receiver (Pat White) and an NFL fullback or linebacker (Tim Tebow).

 

Some of the others will be where the sun don't shine (Indoor leagues) at the next level.

For those who question my post, have you seen Hunter play? You do realize he has been pretty much the man when he stepped up to the line? And that people were questioning wether Brohm even deserved to have the starting spot back when he came back, right?

 

I guess not. History doesn't matter unless you've seen it on Sportscenter this week.

If this is true, what does it say about your head coach? Seems that any head coach should know who the better player is and would play the one that will help the team.. Sounds as if you just revealed some major flaws in the program at U of L if what you stated holds water.

Too early to tell about McCoy and Tebow. They're true sophmores and thus ineligible for the draft after this year. Chase Daniel is a junior and isn't expected to come out.

I hated to do it, but had to vote for Brohm at this point in their careers. He is more experienced and polished. However, with that being said, I wouldn't trade Andre for ANY QB in the country. It is nice to even have 2 QB's of such stature from our great state that now the NATION is seeing as 2 of the best at what they do. I think Andre has more upside, but any team that took either one of these guys would get a class act winner in my book.

Woodson may slightly be a better "athlete" as far as who has more upside? That's kind of a loaded question. Woodson still has a lot of room for improvement, unlike Brian....it is as close to a push as can be. The main seperation, IMO, is the quickness of release for Brian right now, if Andre can learn to make that quicker he will have a long successful NFL career.

 

I agree. I think that often comes with confidence and Andre is starting to get a very firm grasp on his abilities.

I know he was injured each of the last 2 seasons. I believe he has missed 5 games during that span. I would have to double check to be sure. But 5 out of 26 in a two year period is almost 20% of their games.

 

Don't get me wrong. I like Brohm. I wish him nothing but the best and hope he has a great year.

 

If he makes it through this season injury free then the past will be forgotten.

 

If he gets hurt again this year, I think NFL teams will question his durability. I know I would be leary of putting millions of dollars into someone who was hurt 3 years in a row and missed 20% of their college games due to injury.

Not trying to speak for RP, but I don't think he was comparing him to Favre. I took it as Brohm's biggest liability is trying to make the big play, and forcing the ball into a small place when it's not there, much like Favre.
