Highlands will beat SK in two weeks. Highlands is by far the best team so far I have seen this year. Yes Ryle beat HHS on 2 TD's called back for penalties and last night in Campbell game (3) balls dropped by HHS receivers for TD's.

I dont take anything away from either Ryle or CC, they won the games fair and square and played their hearts out and deserve the wins but SK will not beat HHS with or without Crane.

The bad news for HHS is that they have had a run of starters having to sit out games for one reason or another. I believe it was 3 of their stars yesterday. If they don't play it could get ugly for the Birds. Luckily they have a couple weeks to prepare although they better not get caught looking ahead.

 

I'm sure we can surmise why they were out and lets just say it was to be expected. A great chance for the other kids who are working hard in practice and in the classroom to step in and make some noise. Its about development of future stars, not future non playing stars.

Well excuse me but in the past 3 years CC has played ALL games at the middle school. Someone asked where the game was going to be played and I said all games were being played at the middle school. Sorry you had to read into it a little bit more than needed to be.

 

Look the only reason I was asking is that when we went out a couple of years ago, we went to the middle school only to find out the game had been moved. I have no idea how many times that has happened nor do I care. I just wanted to know where to go if I could get out there.

I was at the Highlands/CC game, and from what I saw, Highlands couldn't move the ball at all. It might be a little of a stretch for me, but if HHS doesn't have that #1, their season is a lot worse than it is now. Very bold statement, can't wait to find out.

I knew someone would get on here and say they lost because of dropped passes. Well I saw more dropped passes for CC. And a lot of penalties also stopped the Camels. This game should not have been as close as it was. Camel defense holds the Birds to two field goals,one on a short field to start. They won the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball big time. Birds QB was running for his life all night. He still did a good job if they gave him any time at all. Camels were also with out a few starters including their big center. Camels laid some huge hits on the Birds also, they didn't care too much for that and started jawing alot. #44 an eighth grader for the Camels is going to be a very good player. I know it hurts you guys to say it but the better team on the field won this game. Also, Simon Kenton is the best team I have seen thus far. If they are without Crane, that will hurt.

From what I hear there was a lot of jawing going on from both sides so let's not paint it as one way. Highlands offensive line has been beat all year. It's a real weak point that has really hurt them. I'm surprised a couple of the running backs haven't been moved to the line, similar to what the varisty has done. Regardless, they just have not played on the level of SK or CC this year yet. Hopefully, they pick it up a notch and finish the year on a strong note.

I was also at the Highlands / CC game. The bottom line is that Highlands was out played. yes, they had some turnovers in the first half that may have cost them the game but isn't that part of the game? CC had as many

dropped passes if not more than Highlands so that's pretty much a wash.

I would also say that Highlands had a chance to tie or win the game late in the 4th quarter, however CC made the big plays and Highlands didn't. As far as Highlands being the best team in NK, I would have to disagree. I'm just a fan that has nothing to lose or gain by this statement. I pick the game of the week as I see it and go watch. If I had to rank teams as of today, I would rank them SK, CC, Ryle and then Highlands. No disrespect to anyone. I've seen all the teams and that's just the way I see it. One last thing, I think all 4 teams are very close and you match up any of the 4 you will get a really good football game.

Normally, without their starting running back Crane I would be a little less confident, but maybe it was your comment (with no reasoning) that has made me think that SK will definately beat Highlands. I could see if it was some other team, maybe SK would overlook them and get shocked, but let's face it it's Highlands. Everyone knows that you bring your A game and I expect SK to beat Highlands by 2 or 3 td's. If they lose, I'll have no problem eating crow.

I heard that Crane may be back as early as this week? (This from some parents in the stands last week) I still think it will be a good game with the edge going to SK.

What about the BHS/NCC rematch this Thurs? Does BHS have a chance? The Kelly kid is awful good!

Does CC need to play an eighth grader? Did it look like they need to? They have around 50 kids on their team. That kid is just that good, why not let him play with the older kids. Coach Miller does a great job of getting all of them playing time win or lose.

...he may not be older...just a grade lower. I believe this occurs at many schools.
