WOW...2- frosh losses in one year for HHS!!! Does someone have a suicide watch on Charlie Barr? (lol) Congrats to the Camels! To the Birds...put it behind you and work harder! The "prize" comes at the varsity level!!

Newport took it to the Breds. They played harder and won. Congrats Newport. They had 2 ints in the end zone, one that was returned for a TD. The TD was negated by penalty, but later on in the 4th NewCath fumbled a handoff as the QB was tripped up trying to make the handoff and the RB couldn't quite hold on. The fumble was returned for a TD with 2 minutes to go.

 

 

Great call by the way on the int. I saw the hold, not a hard call to make.

Does this knock NCC out of the playoff picture?

The last two years (and possibly further back) the championship game was between the #1 teams in the East and the West, regardless of their class. Not sure if there has been any change to this as a result of any realignment, however this is how it was done in the past.

 

How are the East/West broke up?

I feel bad for the ponies...just goes to show how tough it is to go a season undefeated...I believe their championship hopes are still alive. Aren't they??

I do not think that the A/AA NKY Freshman group is having a championship game this year. With only 5 teams (Beechwood, Lloyd, NCC, HC, Newport), I do not see a championship having much meaning anyway.

 

I have to agree with Mexitucky, having 5 teams play each other twice is not a good idea. I hope changes are made for next year.

What changes could be made?

 

The 5A/6A teams number 10 so playing each other once takes up 9 games. Plus their playoffs. Can't see them wanting to change that to play 2A teams.

 

The 1A schools (except Beechies) are playing Frosh/Soph games and can't see them changing that. At best maybe the 2A straight Frosh teams could play the 1A Frosh/Soph teams but that might not be that benefical for either.

 

The 2A schools are stuck unless they can find some Ohio schools basically.

I Think it depends on what happens when they play Covcath. If CovCath would somehow upset the Camels, it leaves a 3 way tie in the East.

The bad news for HHS is that they have had a run of starters having to sit out games for one reason or another. I believe it was 3 of their stars yesterday. If they don't play it could get ugly for the Birds. Luckily they have a couple weeks to prepare although they better not get caught looking ahead.

Highlands will beat SK in two weeks. Highlands is by far the best team so far I have seen this year. Yes Ryle beat HHS on 2 TD's called back for penalties and last night in Campbell game (3) balls dropped by HHS receivers for TD's.

I dont take anything away from either Ryle or CC, they won the games fair and square and played their hearts out and deserve the wins but SK will not beat HHS with or without Crane.
