May 30, 200719 yr And still live in the greatest nation on earth that is truly free enough to permit him to break its laws to tell his lies and project them on theater screens nationwide. People like Moore and Rosie are like adults who still live with their parents. They eat their parent's food, sleep in their parent's home, use their parent's phone and utilities, and then complain because mom or dad ask them to help out by taking out the trash or mowing the grass on occasion. It's getting hard to take these spoiled babies seriously... regardless of their message. I am all for "encouraging" Moore to "move" to Cuba, so he may directly benefit from the wonderful Cuban healthcare system, goverment and entertainment industry. :thumb: Excellent analogy. Very well said.
May 30, 200719 yr The truth...   Classic! I would like to find one with Moore, Rosie, Hillary. Pelosi, Teddy K. and crew in a cave with Osama. Would be an excellent place for them. :sssh:
June 13, 200719 yr I usually don't pay attention to Michael Moore because I think the guy is a bit of a nut case. I don't like anyone that can rich off a problem but will do nothing to fix it. Anyways...this morning he was on Good Morning Amercia with one the reporter's Chris Cuomo. He goes into his tirade about how the media caused all the problems with Iraq, etc.. He says that if the media would tell the truth 3500 soliders would not be dead, yada, yada.... What really cracked me up about the interview is at one point Cuomo says to Moore...you know it's people like you that also cause problems with our healthcare...meaning your fat Michael....   I about fell over. Before any of you jump on my back...I am not making fun of anyone overweight. As far as I am concerned I don't really care what anyone looks like!!!!!! When I look at a person I want to see kindness in the heart. There is no doubt there are many problems with our healthcare, gov't....the list could go on forever!!!! But to me blaming one particular thing or person for a world wide problem is nothing but crap.
June 13, 200719 yr I thought Sicko was a pretty good movie. I watched it yesterday...to me all of his movies have made sense. I know I'm going to catch some flack over saying that but that's my opinion.
June 13, 200719 yr I dislike Michael Moore almost to the point of distraction. Having gotten that off my chest, I do want to see his latest movie (or documentary - wink, nudge.) Although he will surely stick to his method of throwing half-truths, misstatements and even outright lies into the movie, I think he will also make some valid observations. Most people on here would agree that the U.S. health care system is hopelessly corrupt and broken. If he doesn't try to blame the current mess on Republicans, he may just gain a little respect for this movie. Watching, but not holding my breath. Thoughts? Health Care in this country does need to be overhauled, but I don't think Michael Moore has any great insight on how to accomplish that.
June 13, 200719 yr Interestingly enough, the movie is purported to be tough on politicians who take millions from pharmaceutical companies (which I believe to be a huge part of the healthcare problem), and on Hillary Clinton in particular. I for one will watch the movie, then try to weigh its merits, rather than ASSUME that it is nothing but "lies", "garbage", etc.

June 13, 200719 yr You mean you actually think it'll be any different from anything else he's done? How would you know unless you watched? You and I disagree on a LOT of things. Does that mean that because you think a lot of what I think, believe, advocate is off-the-hook-wrong, that you could never envision the two of us actually agreeing upon something? The only way to know is to keep the lines of communication open.

Besides, I thought we were agreeing on things more often lately. Weren't we?

Weren't we? Actually, you have to put aside your animosity toward Moore. It would be much healthier for you. Oh, and thanks for thinking I'm intelligent.....although given your scathing opinion of Moore, I'm not sure you consider my intelligence to be of above normal standards, or just above your opinion of Moore's intelligence. We agree on some things, and we might agree on more if I liked the way you presented your case. The same goes for Moore. He may actually have salient points, but a lot of people can't get beyond their dislike of the way he presents his points.

He and Ted Kennedy should live together; they make such a lovely couple. Of course I think you’re an intelligent person, you have to be since you agree with me when I show you the error of your ways. Birdie and I are there for you, RM.
