Michael Moore's "Sicko"

Featured Replies

How is Moore "forcing" his views down your throat? You don't have to watch if you don't want to.

And is the "tearing down" he does more against the GOP and big business? Is that where your objection lies? I don't agree with all his causes, but it seems to me that exposing what he feels are lies are a starting point for making the country better.

Jim, it is evident that you still have your wind, whereas I am truly too weary to engage in a meaningful round of linguistic sparring.

I could merely concede that you are technically correct, I do not "have" to watch his films.

On the other hand, if I am to be responsible in my beliefs, I do bear some obligation to remain aware of what Moore, Rosie and others are saying. This duty is compounded by the fact that I have three kids who are exposed to the results of Moore’s tripe, as well as many kids I coach and mentor who haven’t the depth and breadth of history and factual understanding to fully assimilate his mistruths.

Adolph Hitler is credited with stating, “If you tell a lie often enough, and loud enough, people will believe it.” In this sense, the fact that Moore, Rosie, the media and the political spin machines are so industrious in cranking out their slanted messages, and the fact that those of us who can see through their agendas, must then invest our time and energy to untangle their lies is in effect, forcing their beliefs down our throats. The fact that we must spend time debunking rather than doing the things our talents beckon us to do that ultimately make this nation great is an added detriment to our nation.

You may not see it, or may not agree with my assessment, but I’m here to state that our society… our American culture is spiraling down the toilet at an ever increasing rate. Propagandists like Moore and Rosie are accelerating that downward slide. It is my opinion that this world will not long endure without a strong America. I do not see how knuckleheads like Moore and O’Donnell are helping…

C'mon now. That's absurd to suggest that every line is a lie.

Sure, Moore may stretch the truth some to get a point across, but is that any different from what the pundits on FoxNews or CNN do? Where is your venom for Hannity?

Moore's a propogandist, just like Karl Rove and Josef Goebbels before him. Take it for what it is.

I do take him for what he is, a liar. I've seen enough of the Columbine film and his other trash "documentary" to feel comfortable to call it lies. And what wasn't, was half-truths at best. BTW, I'm not a Hannity faithful. I don't even watch him.

Someone please point out the lies in "Sicko".

Someone please point out the lies in "Sicko".
I haven't seen it yet, but I would be willing to bet there's a ton of them plus his typical "I hate America" diatribe.

You actually like his garbage?

Someone please point out the lies in "Sicko".

I'm pretty sure the misrepresentations everyone is talking about were in his previous films.

Do we really need someone else to point out that the health care system is broken? How about someone coming up with a fix that will work!

Which goes to show that this movie "Sicko" will be more of the same. :ylsuper:
