June 16, 200719 yr Just because he's very extreme and often obnoxious doesn't mean that he doesn't care or mean well. I think it's obvious that he really does or he wouldn't be so controversial in his movies. If he just made something that he knew everyone would like and agree with then he would have a much bigger bank account. How can deliberate distortion, misreprestation and outright falsification for monetary and political purposes ever be well meaining?
June 16, 200719 yr How can deliberate distortion, misreprestation and outright falsification for monetary and political purposes ever be well meaining? That sounds like the new age definition of politics.
June 16, 200719 yr I don't think he cares about anything but himself and his bank account. Personally, I peg him as a phony. Sounds like the American way to me.
June 18, 200719 yr How can deliberate distortion, misreprestation and outright falsification for monetary and political purposes ever be well meaining? I fell out of my chair lauging at this... HELLOOOO! American politics defined in the post by shooter! Bravo!
June 18, 200719 yr I dislike Michael Moore almost to the point of distraction. Having gotten that off my chest, I do want to see his latest movie (or documentary - wink, nudge.) Although he will surely stick to his method of throwing half-truths, misstatements and even outright lies into the movie, I think he will also make some valid observations. Most people on here would agree that the U.S. health care system is hopelessly corrupt and broken. If he doesn't try to blame the current mess on Republicans, he may just gain a little respect for this movie. Watching, but not holding my breath. Thoughts? I, like you, loathe Michael Moore and his inane rantings. For this reason alone I wouldn't watch anything Michael Moore produces . . . that would be giving it credibility. . . . condoning it on a certain level so to speak. While I whole heartedly agree that our health care system does have its problems the answer is certainly not a socialized medicine approach . . . God forbid! Have you researched the failures this type of system has borne in other countries? (i.e. Canada, France, Great Britain?) I for one don't want to see us go down that road. Surely there is a better way.

Michael Moore is an absolute moron who hates America and cares for nothing other than himself. He makes these movies to spew his left wing philosophies to anyone who will listen (or pay to see the trash) I say if he is not happy with the way we do things go buddy up with Fidel in Cuba . . . I am sure he will receive a much better welcome!

Did you agree with everything from the last administration? Did you try to change the direction of the things you did not like? If/when you did were you just trying to spew your philosophies to anyone who would listen?

We apparently don't live in a democracy unless your opinion falls inline with a certain view.

June 18, 200719 yr Great, until you try to dupe people with half truths, lies and misrepresentation. More of the American Way …
June 18, 200719 yr Ponderance of the day: Lies, half truths and misrepresentations: Which is worse: A private citizen who commits them? Or an elected official?
June 18, 200719 yr We apparently don't live in a democracy unless your opinion falls inline with a certain view. We don't, we live in a Republic.
June 18, 200719 yr Ponderance of the day: Lies, half truths and misrepresentations: Which is worse: A private citizen who commits them? Or an elected official? We all know the answer to that, but name an elected official that isn't guilty of that. Sad, isn't it?

June 18, 200719 yr We don't, we live in a Republic. actually a democratic republic in that we elect our representatives:thumb:
