Booge Posted May 27, 2007 Posted May 27, 2007 I dislike Michael Moore almost to the point of distraction. Having gotten that off my chest, I do want to see his latest movie (or documentary - wink, nudge.) Although he will surely stick to his method of throwing half-truths, misstatements and even outright lies into the movie, I think he will also make some valid observations. Most people on here would agree that the U.S. health care system is hopelessly corrupt and broken. If he doesn't try to blame the current mess on Republicans, he may just gain a little respect for this movie. Watching, but not holding my breath. Thoughts?
Jumper_Dad Posted May 27, 2007 Posted May 27, 2007 Will there be any rabbits getting skinned in this one?
oldrambler Posted May 28, 2007 Posted May 28, 2007 Michael Moore is just a "legend in his own mind" Liar! Imo he is just like Rosie O. I don't think that he "just" hates Bush, I honestly believe that he (they) Hate America. Moore is a very sick, bitter human being (and I really wonder if anyone should call him or Rosie human) that need to move to another country. I guess the he wouldn't do that though as long as he can hate America and still yet make their multi millions off of this country.

And still live in the greatest nation on earth that is truly free enough to permit him to break its laws to tell his lies and project them on theater screens nationwide. People like Moore and Rosie are like adults who still live with their parents. They eat their parent's food, sleep in their parent's home, use their parent's phone and utilities, and then complain because mom or dad ask them to help out by taking out the trash or mowing the grass on occasion. It's getting hard to take these spoiled babies seriously... regardless of their message. I am all for "encouraging" Moore to "move" to Cuba, so he may directly benefit from the wonderful Cuban healthcare system, goverment and entertainment industry. :thumb:

Fastbreak Posted May 29, 2007 Posted May 29, 2007 Very nice analogy. :thumb:That's exactly what my mom and dad said when I went upstairs to get a bowl of cereal and tell them we're out of milk... :sssh:
75center Posted May 29, 2007 Posted May 29, 2007 You went upstairs? Why didn't you just call them on the phone? :sssh:
Fastbreak Posted May 29, 2007 Posted May 29, 2007 You went upstairs? Why didn't you just call them on the phone? :sssh: Mom's knees aren't what they used to be, and she'd never make it downstairs without spilling half the bowl... plus, she'd just want to talk too much, and probably nag at me to clean up "my" place... and then gripe that my cleaning always results in her having more laundry to do. Besides, I gotta get to the next level on Guitar Hero II.

acemona Posted May 29, 2007 Posted May 29, 2007 Very nice analogy. :thumb: So you guys don't think that he pays taxes and fees and other duties? WOW I have never heard that anywhere. What were the exact lies again?
75center Posted May 29, 2007 Posted May 29, 2007 So you guys don't think that he pays taxes and fees and other duties? WOW I have never heard that anywhere. What were the exact lies again? Not sure how you got that out of their posts.

It's getting hard to take these spoiled babies seriously... regardless of their message. This is where I got it. They make the suggestion that he is living off of the dole and not carrying his weight (which is about like mine I might add). If he is paying his taxes and voting and doing other responsible things, then he has every right (and some would say responsibility) to point out shortcomings. Generalizing here - many on this board think its okay and the responsible thing to point out the sins of individuals and ask them to repent, but it is not okay to point out the sins of the government and ask it to change. Interesting.
75center Posted May 29, 2007 Posted May 29, 2007 I still don't read anything into their posts that has to do with paying taxes or fees but more getting all the benefits and then complaining about the conditions.

If you are living at home you are not paying rent or buying groceries, etc. If I have an apartment, and I am paying rent I can complain to the super. or the landlord. I have a reasonable expectation that his/her end of the contract will be upheld. If Moore is a responsible citizen and not a tax evader he has a reasonable expectation that the government's half of the social contract (Hobbs/Locke) will be upheld, and if he believes it is not he has every right to complain and to point it out.
