May 29, 200719 yr I don't see Moore as tearing down anything. I feel he may use exploitative measures to bring issues to the attention of the American public. But, I don't think everything he says or does is a lie. He's a bit over the top for my taste, but I also realize that we live in America where we have the right to criticize our government, political leaders, just about anyone. He's also taken advantage of his rights to free speech, freedome from oppression and the pursuit of happiness. Not to mention, he's completely taken advantage of living in a capatilistic society where making money, no matter what the means, is more important that the quality of your product. I didn't say it was illegal for him to do it. I just said I didn't care for it.
May 29, 200719 yr Let me get this right acemona, you actually think Moore deserves to be defended for the tripe he creates?
May 29, 200719 yr You mean like Ann Coulter? Now I didn't go there, but I could. I, unlike most on hear, appreciate both views conservitive and wrong ones  I mean liberal. I do think that liberal views get a lot more play on tv and in the news papers than do the conservative views. I have great discussions with a liberal friend every week at work and in the end we see the same on what needs to be done most of the time. I just hate to see most people on TV automatically take one side or the other based only on who is supporting that idea. Coulter does this as do the entire networks of MSNBC, CNN, ABC, NBC and CBS.

I try hard to read/watch or otherwise educate myself on all sides of an issue. I find that there's rarely a "right" side, or a "wrong" side. I often find there are more than two sides. I admit to being nauseated physically by Ann Coulter. I've read what she has to say (albeit just one book), and she disgusts me. It's not her political views, it's the vitrol in which she delivers them.

May 29, 200719 yr Will there be any rabbits getting skinned in this one? Only after they're clubbed sufficiently...
May 29, 200719 yr Again, I think you're taking that analogy too far. Fastbreak was making the point that Moore is like a spoiled child because he (inappropriately) tears down that which he is privileged to have.I had to leave around noon to do some real work, but I can see that BF had my back. You're right on the money Sir... :thumb: Moore puts a lot of time and effort into his productions. I don't understand his apparent need to tear down rather than to build up the country that has provided him his every opportunity and freedom. I've grown weary of the self-anointed pseudo-intelligentsia forcing their political views down our throats.
May 29, 200719 yr self-anointed pseudo-intelligentsiaWow! You could win a game of Scrabble with those two alone!
May 29, 200719 yr It makes for a pretty tough tongue twister to boot... not quite in the same category as "The sixth sick sheik's sixth sheep's sick" but a challenge none the less.

You don't have to watch if you don't want to. And is the "tearing down" he does more against the GOP and big business? Is that where your objection lies? I don't agree with all his causes, but it seems to me that exposing what he feels are lies are a starting point for making the country better.

What he feels are lies? His "movies" are exactly that.....lies.
May 30, 200719 yr What he feels are lies? His "movies" are exactly that.....lies. C'mon now. That's absurd to suggest that every line is a lie. Sure, Moore may stretch the truth some to get a point across, but is that any different from what the pundits on FoxNews or CNN do? Where is your venom for Hannity? Moore's a propogandist, just like Karl Rove and Josef Goebbels before him. Take it for what it is.
