March 19, 200719 yr I can only account for one man, and here I sit. Would've been here earlier, but I watched the game at my girlfiend's house. Everyone else is doing their own thing. No bother.
March 19, 200719 yr Same sad situtation UK fans are becoming accustomed too. How many UK players would have been on the floor for KU today? Maybe Morris, but thats about it. The talent no longer wants to come to Lextown, and our MAC talent can't be the big boys. I fear next year is going to be really really ugly with no Morris and no PPAT. Even if we do get Pat.... Morris struggled his freshman year. ITS EARLY, but I think the cats might flirt with the NIT next year. UT, FL, LSU, M-STATE are all upgrading... we on the other hand have nobody coming in as of now.
March 19, 200719 yr Jasper needs to gain confidence in himself. Someone needs to help him with his shot as well. If Lucas comes in, I would experiment with Jasper at the 3.
March 19, 200719 yr If Lucas comes in, I would experiment with Jasper at the 3. If Lucas comes in, I would definitely put him at the point, because he would be by far our best option there. However, Jasper at the three makes very little sense to me at all. We need a scoring threat at the 3, and Jasper is practicaly the furthest from that we can get.
March 19, 200719 yr Jasper's an intangibles guy, but he's not somebody who is going to put the ball on the hole... Without a lot of work at least. I hope he spends this offseason in the gym shooting.

I agree with the fact Patterson could struggle but I think he will be decent, but UK defintley would need someone like a Moriss to be there because he is good but no program saver. He has a body like Moriss if you ever see them up close they are strong but yet tall and lanky like but yet muscular. The problem for a big guy is how will he adjust to matching up with someone his size. I seen a kid from Bridgeport WV about 6'7 throw down a couple nice dunks on Patterson.
March 19, 200719 yr Just 2 pages on the final game of the season? Wow. Just wow. Not even prozac can help at this point
March 19, 200719 yr I think some of you are overreacting a little too much. It's like Digger Phelps said " Tubby is a good coach and should be given a lot more respect than he's getting. Simple fact is his TEAM got beat by a better TEAM today." And trust me I am no UK or Tuibby Smith fan but I got to thinking and Tubby has done a lot for this program. 1) He had the #1 recruiting class 2 years ago. Think how much better UK would have been this year had Rondo not gone pro? 2) Despite the lack of talent, he still fields the most competitive SEC team year after year and has his team in atleast the 2nd round every year of the NCAA. 3) Let's not forget he did win a national title his first year (granted that was Pitino's team, but still.) I'm a UC fan. And I think you UK fans are so used to winning, you're not used to having a couple bad seasons in a row. That's not a bad thing though. UK is jsut in a rebuilding stage right now. The new 30 million dollar facility they just built will be huge for recruiting. You guys have a good coach. The talent just isn't there right now.

If the same thing happens to Tubby then I think you will see much of the same thing happen to UK in terms of support.
March 19, 200719 yr Author Tubby's last game? KU ousts UK http://www.sportsline.com/collegebasketball/gamecenter/recap/NCAAB_20070318_KY@KS CHICAGO -- Seeing "Kentucky" on the opponent's jerseys was motivation enough for Brandon Rush. Knowing Michael Jordan was watching made it a day to remember. Rush was a career-best 6-of-7 from long range Sunday, including 4-for-4 in the second half as top-seeded Kansas romped past Kentucky 88-76 in an NCAA Tournament matchup of two of the game's most storied programs. Rush finished with 19 points, and Chicago native Julian Wright scored 15 of his 21 in the second half. The Jayhawks shot a blistering 64 percent in the final 20 minutes to pull away and win their 13th in a row. "We just had a mind-set that nobody could guard us," Rush said. Kind of like another guy who played at the United Center. The Kansas squad spotted Jordan's tricked-out Range Rover before the game, and the Jayhawks were thrilled to know His Airness would be watching them. "I wanted to give him a great performance," Rush said of Jordan, who watched from a luxury suite. "The whole team wanted to." Kansas (32-4) now plays fourth-seeded Southern Illinois on Thursday in the West Regional semifinals in San Jose, Calif. Kentucky is the winningest program in college history, while Kansas claims Dr. James Naismith, the inventor of the game. It's special whenever they meet, especially considering it doesn't happen too often. Only 25 times, in fact, and Kentucky had a decided edge for years. But it's been all Kansas lately, with the Jayhawks now undefeated in the last three matchups....... The loss won't do much to get Smith back in the good graces of Kentucky fans. Despite winning a national championship and five Southeastern Conference titles in his 10 years at Kentucky, Smith has been criticized by the Wildcats faithful in recent weeks for "underachieving.".......... "I guess it's just that 'Kentucky' on the jersey. It helped my jumper," Rush said. "Today, I felt pretty good. The team felt pretty good."

If the same thing happens to Tubby then I think you will see much of the same thing happen to UK in terms of support.Huggs WAS Cincy basketball, Tubbs is not Kentucky basketball. Granted Tubby has a lot of support out there but I don't think we will hear many complaints from the if/when he is to be fired.
March 19, 200719 yr I thought they played pretty good, not really much they can do when KU strokes the 3 ball like that. I havent watch a whole lot of Kansas but I'd be willing to bet that today was one if not the best game they have had shooting the 3 all year.
March 19, 200719 yr Where are our two gentlemen who said this UK team would be in the Final Four? Hey no need to call me out, I always show up!!! Well I stand firm in my belief that this team could have and maybe should have been a final four team. We just lost to a team who is better though..I told me dad before the bracket was announced I just hope they dont pair us with Kansas, because that was the one and only team in the tournament where I just was really scared to play. I still felt though that with the draw that if we could just get past KU we had a great chance to make the final four with the next two games after it...I know midyear when I was watching Kansas, I had made up my mind that they was a team that I for sure was putting in the final four, because they reminded me of last years florida team. But with the pairing it forced me to choose between the team in KU who impressed me more than anyone, or the team who I thought who would make a deep run, and thought UK would pull it out somehow, and I was just wrong.... As a side note, I know I really look forward to the Kansas vs. Florida matchup in the final four...
