I haven't seen the figure anywhere officially. Only in here, does anyone have actual proof that he's making that?

???Boyle County might have to watch their back in the area now. Mercer  connected big time on this one. Kudos to the administrators for making it happen!

Yeah, few aren't taking that deal! Hard to be upset at a guy leaving for that.

I would imagine it would take a significant number to lure him away from a team that returns most of their starters off a finals run. Now what that number is who knows for sure but I would guess it was a big one.

Yeast made in the 90,000s.  And that’s public knowledge.  Teachers actually went and looked it up. As it’s public record.  So I’m sure it’s up there.

I'm shocked. Does Mercer have the feeder system PC has? Can you win a State Championship at Mercer? If you are chasing the almighty $$ then you go, but if you're chasing a Ring, not sure you get it down at Mercer. Of course, Coach Travis has several of those from BC.

Doesn’t your coaching pay count toward your yearly average when it comes to retirement?

yes, provided you have the additional responsibility for at least 3 years. A friend attempted to add to their retirement by coaching several middle school sports his last year and it did not count towards the retirement.

Mercer was 1-9 last season I believe.  Is anyone familiar enough with their personnel and schedule to give us an outlook for 2026?

With the influx of kids that will come back out for football, there will be no comparison between last year’s roster  & 2026.

Biggest challenge I see for Coach Burns is finding a good staff.  Good assistants are hard to find these days.

You would think if he asked for and received that type of compensation, he would also get an above scale compensation package for his assistant coaches.

One man/woman cannot do it alone. THE KEY to many quality programs comes from the quality of the people associated with the program (assistants).

Was talking to a coach (not football) from Mercer and he said that Mercer only had about 16 kids to come out to spring ball.  But after Yeast resigned, it doubled.

I wonder if they made an extra special deal with Kasey McRay for basketball?

Probably not.

I also heard that 15-20 players have been added.
