I'm rooting for X.

What if we told you St Xavier beat Central 105-50 in their District game? You took issue with Cov Cath taking down Holmes in the 35th three weeks ago in similar fashion.

Checking the beat downs Holmes put on the 9th in that thread from the '89/90 season, including a 111-63 pasting of the Colonels wouldn't change your mind would it?

You have to beat the good teams at some point.

My takeaway from this game is X is better, they have better talent, a good amount better talent than CCH.

If you told me that, which you did not, I would still root for X.

One of the least-shocking things I've ever seen from you.

I believe St. X wins this one.  I think they're a little better than the NKY teams.

I'm going with CovCath, with Myrick being the difference. That being said, CovCath loses a lot of players with varsity experience for next season, will they still challenge for a region title? Myrick will be the main guy his senior year.

Don't worry about CCH, they'll be back next year, they're dominant.

Chief Cameron will be the X factor for St. X. If he can control the tempo and take care of the ball, I think the Tigers win a close one. If this becomes a track meet, then I think Cov Cath wins by double digits. This year's version of the Tiger basketball I don't think is a team that can keep pace with Cov Cath in terms of high-volume scoring.

Should be a fun one and a great way to start the tournament.

Looking ahead to next year before their Sweet 16 game?

Lol, you're always just one game away from looking ahead.

LexHerald yesterday referenced St. X’s Jeremiah Johnson was one of the top four seniors in Ky this year and that guard Joshua Lindsey was the #1 sophomore in Ky.  Pretty talented load for CovCath.  This should truly be a don’t miss matchup.

What has impressed me the most about Jeremiah over the last month or so is that he has been able to do so much for the team. There were games where he carried the team scoring, but then during the last few games he didn't have to scoring but he was able to play great defense and do other things on the court to help his team win. This team will go as he goes today.

Just doing what great teammates/players do!  Tip-off getting closer.  Is it too early to fire up the popcorn popper?
