I wasn't at the game to be able to say one way or the other, but John Brecount, Lucas Hoyt and Brandon Smith aren't among the starting 5 nor are they among the first 5 off the bench at this point. Smith is actually a freshman. Those three accounted for 12 points, right there, and I would assume they were coming late into the game. Carson Bode's hasn't usually gotten into games much until the second half, either, and that's another 8 points. Should they just be passing and dribbling the ball around in circles an not taking any shots?

I understand not kicking someone when they're down, but you also have to look at the fact that this is post-season play, and teams have to keep themselves hot for an entire game. Being able to play 4 quarters of strong basketball is the difference in winning and not winning come tournament time.

Well, if that were the only alternative, then I guess you have a point. You have to try really hard to score 25 points with a running clock. Running offense and reversing the ball three times before you attempt a shot avoids it. Run the offense for 30 seconds before you shoot avoids it. Walk the ball up the floor avoids it. No three point attempts avoids it.  

Took in the double header last night at HC. The clearing of the gym did make sense due to the crowd of the second game. As for the last quarter of the Cov Cath-Holmes game, it was obvious what Cov Cath was trying to do, and they got the result they wanted.”

That shot clock many people are wanting will make this all the more common unless you just take the violation. I was saying to my wife this morning that I can remember when Cov Cath/Holmes was THE game in NKY. How things change.
