Are we going to penalize public schools because they swept the boys and girls basketball tournaments?  Are we going to specifically penalize GRC for doing so?  Of course not.  Nor should we.  The whol

So one possibility would be to have two private classes and I will break it down using my own opinion.

I would put DeSales in top class due to their size since bigger than all the lower class teams. They also beat St. X in 2018.

Boredom has got the best of me! With the recent decision in Alabama to spilt public and private schools, following suit with some other states, I wondered what if? What if Kentucky were to do the same. For sake of discussion let’s just use football. Rather than this be a should it happen or not happen, let’s say it hypothetically did happen. How would it work? By my count the state has 16 total private schools who participate in football. If you break that down by current alignment it’s a followed:

1 A: (7) Bethlehem, Lou. Holy Cross, KCD, Newport Central Catholic, Bishop Brossert, Covington Holy Cross, and Sayre.

2A (3) Owensboro Catholic, Lexington Christian, and St. Henry.

3A (3) CAL, DeSales, and Lexington Catholic.

4A (1) Covington Catholic

5A (0)

6A (2) Trinity, and St. Xavier

How would you make this work? How many classes? What type of playoff format would you use?

Again this is not should or shouldn’t happen, it’s what if it did.

I personally see no way it’s possible based on the number of total teams and the size differences in the schools, but I’ll give it a stab. 2 classes, 8 schools in each. The 8 largest in division 1, the 8 smallest in division 2. You play a traditional 10 game schedule vs who ever you like. The playoffs are seeded 1-8 based on RPI,HS Rating etc

Divsion 1 : Trinity, St. Xaiver, Covington Catholic, Lexington Catholic, DeSales, CAL, Lexington Catholic, and Owensboro Catholic.

Division 2: Bethlehem, Lou. Holy Cross, KCD, Newport Central Catholic, Bishop Brossart, Covington Holy Cross, Sayre, and St. Henry.

What say you? Hypothetically speaking of course?

I would drop Owensboro Catholic down to Division 2 and leave the rest where they're at. After doing this then people will complain about open public schools vs resides public schools.

Right, if anything like a public/private split happens it won't be long before the "powers that be" come after Raceland, Pikeville, Beechwood, Mayfield, Belfry, Bell County, Highlands, Boyle County, Corbin, Owensboro, Woodford County, Pulaski County, Bowling Green, South Warren, Ryle, Frederick Douglass, Male, Manual, and on and on...  In short, if you are successful, the "mediocre masses" will come after you next.

A suggestion I saw the other day I liked the most out of the split the privates talk.

Put the top half of privates in 6A, the bottom half in 5A. Based on enrollment.

I didn’t get that far ahead in my train of thought.. ?

Here we are 9 pages in and I still have no idea what the goal is. Who are we trying to help? What problem are we trying to fix?

And I will add, separating out 16 private schools is ludicrous.

I asked Google what to do with a crying adult:

Dealing with a "crybaby" adult—someone who frequently complains about minor issues, avoids responsibility, or uses emotional outbursts to get their way—requires a combination of firm boundaries, emotional validation, and, in some cases, disengagement. Key approaches include setting clear limits on behavior, encouraging self-reliance, and not enabling the behavior with excessive attention.

Agreed but I’m going to play along.

Have an “Open” class with the largest schools by Male enrollment. This would include St X and T and ANY other school that wanted to compete in it.

All other Private schools in one class. Once your schools Male enrollment reaches ??? you go into the Open class.

All other Classes are enrollment only but only 4 classes.
