Are we going to penalize public schools because they swept the boys and girls basketball tournaments?  Are we going to specifically penalize GRC for doing so?  Of course not.  Nor should we.  The whol

So the 1.35 multiplier applied to private schools is factored in to account for a perceived advantage held by private schools to be able to accept students without being hindered by a geographical dis

My advice to these 16 schools is to pool your resources, hire the best attorneys money can buy, and preemptively file suit against the KHSAA.

I believe Tennessee uses this model I could be wrong. There will be pros and cons regardless which direction the KHSAA goes in. Some will be thrilled others will be Mad that's just how this goes, Hopefully after they figure out this mess they can figure out how to adjust the RPI.

This is insane.

We still only have 50% of the years they'd use, but judging based off the one year, I'd say it's hard to imagine CovCath doesn't end up in 5A.  LexCath appears comfortably into 4A, and right now CAL would be right at the bottom of 4A.  DeSales likely gets to stay in 3A.  St. Henry most likely ends up in 3A, LCA is like CAL, right at the bottom of next class, so may be 3A.  OCath probably safe in 2A.  KCD, Cov. Holy Cross, Bethlehem, Sayre, Bishop Brossart, I think they'll all end up in 2A.  Lou. Holy Cross and NewCath I'd predict manage to stay in 1A.

So right now I'd predict that of the 14 teams that aren't Trinity or St. X, probably at least 9 of them end up moving up a class.

Not if you are one of the schools facing the anti-private school multiplier.

Who would that move down to 1A then?

Going with the DF numbers!! ?

CovCath will be fine in 5A and one could argue that 5A would be easier to win than 4A because Boyle County and CAL will be in 4A.

LexCath will probably be on the struggle bus in 4A.  They will compete but I would not be optimistic if I were a Knights' fan.

CAL will be just fine in 4A.  It will probably come down to Boyle County and CAL almost every year.  Where is my popcorn for this annual event!!

St. Henry having to move up to 3A is so tone-deaf I think any reasonable person should be questioning the entire process.

LCA will be fine in 3A, maybe even the best team in 3A because without CAL, 3A is weak sauce.

KCD, Covington Holy Cross, Bethlehem, Sayre, and Bishop Brossart all in 2A.  Godspeed, all of you will need it...

So to wrap this up, the anti-private school multiplier will be a disaster for St. Henry and most of the 1A teams forced to move up.  For the rest of the private schools, it is mostly 6 of one, half dozen of the other.  And then there is Trinity and St. Xavier which are unable to be addressed in this moronic multiplier.

Did I miss anything?  Anyone?

Why would it push any down?

If some move up to 2A, then there will be some at the bottom of 2A that will go to 1A.  They have to have 32 teams in 1A.

Semantics to me but yes I agree with you.
