The schedule will be the difference in this game. Bowling Green has played a better schedule which has put them in various scenarios throughout the season; Atherton has played a relatively weak schedule and that will be the difference. Bowling Green will know how to handle the ups and downs of a big game.

BG 28-17.

The ratings have both close, Bowling Green being narrowly above Atherton. SOS might be a factor, but I don’t see BG winning overwhelmingly if they do win. No one can argue that Atherton played a weaker schedule, but it isn’t guaranteed that they lose because of it. I know it’s differences in classes, but hardly no one thought Paris was beating Sayre over the past weekend and no one hardly thought Sayre would win state last year until they beat Pikeville in the playoffs. I thought Sayre was going to win last season before they beat anyone significant based on their talent. 
 

Regardless, it’s why the game is played. There’s ALWAYS a winner and loser, not mattering  who’s expected or not to win. Good luck to both teams.

Atherton in an upset. Big A factory has experience playing BG in the playoffs and have the defense to fluster the young BG QB. 

 

Could see this game going either way. Wouldn't be surprised to see either team win by 12+ personally. This is a completely different Atherton team than last year's matchup, and same could be said for Bowling Green. Atherton was exposed in that game last year, but this year they don't have to make that long road trip down. Atherton's offense has always relied on the big play, and they love trick plays in these types of games. Their defense has been the real deal though - athletes everywhere on the field. 

 

I think if it's close, BG pulls it out. If Atherton wins I think it'll come from them coming out hot and never letting up.

Boy it is a lot of back and forth for 30 minutes of time!!!

I liked the 7 pm personally because it likely gets both teams away from potential rain later in the evening.  But I guess this could change again, so hang on!!!!

Notwithstanding,  the coaching component! A coaching staff that has never tasted 4th round and title game cold, and nerves. A coaching staff experienced with semifinal strategy and state title triumph. Sorry, not sorry. BG 21, Atherton 7.

This makes me want Atherton to win.
