After Billy Martin's (former North Oldham HC) final season at Moore going 3-7, McKay took over the job in February of the following spring. In Year 1 under McKay, the team went 5-5 with a first round playoff exit to Butler. In Year 2 under McKay, the team went 7-5, winning their first round playoff game vs Butler and then losing to Atherton 19-6. Year 3 they had some staff turnover, as well as player turnover per the stats so it was a different story as the team went 3-7, they had 5 total seniors with prior in game action.

Any updates on this job? Seems like an attractive place within JCPS beside the schedule.

New AD decision I would guess coming in cleaning house, that would be the former J-Town HC Donte Ellison. Does seem a bit of a surprise though - a winless season may lead to things like that though. Very tough program to go into though and besides last year he seemed to have some good momentum with things.

This past year was his 3rd Season as HC at Moore, was the middle school HC the year before that. This will be his 5th season overall coaching as he came directly into Moore after his stint in the XFL. Had some major staff & student turnover this past season with quite a few of their players (including the starting QB) ending up at Fern Creek.

1. Trinity 2. CAL 3. South Warren 4. Boyle 5. Owensboro 6. Franklin Co Put them all in a 6 team bracket and seed them out and I think you end up with some great matchups but all in all ends up as Trinity or CAL at the end of the day as the best 2 in the state.

Wing T / Veer .... started running it a couple years ago and Jones has said at a clinic that he fell in love with it. Great coach though, don't get me wrong.

I don't really see the St. X faithfuls and students rallying around that offense KCD runs. Unfortunately, even with all the success it has brought in 1A, it could definitely become tough to get kids interested to come out comparatively to Trinity's offense right down the road.

Billy Martin...Mekale McKay...who do we think is going to the Funky M on Outer Loop next? Mustangs had some great success for a couple years there with JJ Weaver leading the charge, but haven't seen much since then. Seemed as though they were building a bit of momentum the last couple years; a bit surprised by the step away and open recruitment to the "next program".

Anything specific you like about how he schemes the offense?

I wouldn't consider only state contenders as the ones executing. Plenty of talented coaches on all levels at schools that likely won't ever sniff playing that last weekend in Lexington.

Guess I'm more asking who does things at a high level? Offensively or defensively - yes, jimmies and joes matter more than X's and O's, but that doesn't mean you don't recognize who does things at a high level.
