Team enrollment, not via the boys in school. Southern has the boys in school enrollment to be 5A but they normally field 16-30ish players. They just finished this season with 18. That is why I specified TEAM enrollment - as in how many are on the roster.

Saw a post about showing appreciation for assistants from across the state before - made me think about the state as a whole and who are the best at what they do on the field. With that said: Who would be considered the Masters of their Craft in coaching across the state with the scheme they run on offense/defense? (Ex. Scott County - McKee - Wing T). Keep in mind this could be a great thread/resource for young coaches to figure out where to learn from, etc.

Could see this game going either way. Wouldn't be surprised to see either team win by 12+ personally. This is a completely different Atherton team than last year's matchup, and same could be said for Bowling Green. Atherton was exposed in that game last year, but this year they don't have to make that long road trip down. Atherton's offense has always relied on the big play, and they love trick plays in these types of games. Their defense has been the real deal though - athletes everywhere on the field. I think if it's close, BG pulls it out. If Atherton wins I think it'll come from them coming out hot and never letting up.

I don't know which of these blueprints is the answer, but something like one of them definitely needs to be done. That or a whole shift in how classes are formed. Boys in the school can no longer be the only primary thing that dictates the class. You have schools like Southern showing up with 18 kids on the team total to a playoff game vs St. X with 100+... just because the enrollment says one thing does not mean they are even remotely on the same level of participation. Whether it is doing something like this or re-classing by team enrollment averages over X years, something needs to be done.

Last time they played WoFo was coming off an emotional week leading up to the South Oldham game. That was something their staff had them fired up for and circled on the calendar after the upset the year prior. I have a feeling the slow start for them in the last matchup was a bit due to that. WoFo is the real deal this year, I'll take them 42-28 in this one.

Manual could run the clock in the 2nd half if they continue playing like they have since the South Warren loss. They know better than to overlook opponents now.

Fern Creek appears to have Moore's former QB Javis Wallace starting for them now (per their last game) who was very dynamic through the air and with his legs. That was definitely a weak spot for them in their first few games. Will be interesting to see how they play with him at the helm now.

Could see them having a surprising playoff run this year with a possibly not-as-expected regular season. A lot of good tests on the schedule. Will be interesting to see how they go as the season progresses. Those early scrimmages should help a ton for them though!

I'm just glad to see they actually put some decent teams on the schedule this year. Will be awfully tough to bring home another 10 win season. Once again interested in seeing how they do once in the playoffs after the showing vs Bowling Green last year.

Could see them having a very good regular season. Will be interested with that district schedule on how they do in the playoffs. Glad to see Atherton on the schedule to end the year though.

Fern Creek is bringing in some major transfers this year. Just apparently lost their QB to Male, but bringing in the one from Moore. I could see them being how Atherton has been for a few years - bullying the Louisville schools that they should, and getting stifled by the teams closer to their size. Will probably start the year on a win streak and then not see another until the end. That district is not somewhere I would want to be.

While losing a major piece to their offense last year, I believe this team could do pretty well during the regular season. Mandeville should have them motivated and ready to go. Defense could be sold, while the offense could be slow to start like most teams. Luckily those first 5 games are all possible wins for the Dragons.

Was surprised he didn't get the NB job, honestly. He did a heck of a job finishing out the year with that team. What they lacked in size/talent, he got out of them in heart.

Supposably is a sort of interim that has been on the staff for awhile. Wasnt much interest in the job other than like 2 coaches. Decided to go with neither of them for different reasons. Could see them trying to get him to ride it out for 2 years and then redo the search once they get a schedule that's not one of the most difficult in the state.

It seems as though a lot of Louisville area teams (think Shawnee, Iroqouis, etc) that could benefit from running a version of the Wing-T refuse to do so. Seems as though a lot of these schools in the area want to run the spread with poor size & execution rather than something that may be beneficial to them. With the new resides in Louisville - football participation outside of the bigger known schools seems to be trending down and that could be due to poor performances. Who are some around the Greater Louisville and surrounding area schools that run it successfully that they should be taking inspiration from?

What’d he step down for? Seemed like something solid was being built. They did just update Grayson Co with the interim though
