The Trinity Shamrocks (10-2) welcome the Madison Central Indians (8-4) to Shelbyville Rd. on Friday night for some 6A quarterfinal action.

Trinity is coming off a 50-0 win over Simon Kenton and has outscored their opponents 230-6 over their last five games. Madison Central is coming off a 45-7 win over George Rogers Clark on Friday.

These programs have met just twice in history (1999, 2012) with Trinity winning both meetings.

Do the Shamrocks keep steamrolling their way through the playoffs or does Jay Cobb's squad finally meet a challenge with the visitors from Richmond?

Just looked at the stats for Madison Central. If it's accurate, they have thrown the ball only 30 times all season!!!! If that's the case, this will get ugly fast.

  • Trinity is a machine right now. No stopping the terminators at this point.

  • St. X rolled Madison Central and Trinity will too.

I hope the weather cooperates.  Looks like rain.

Another running clock.

Another Trinity running clock. When do we get the day of private championships or Trinity playing a national schedule?

You could start a thread explaining how these would work?

He doesn't get enough credit on this defense because so many good players.

He's so strong and physical. Dad was a really good player at Louisville back in the day.

Not sure "rolled" is quite the terminology...MC drove inside the red zone 3 times in the first quarter and came away with 0 points and 3 fumbles. If they kept better control of the ball, its a tight game.

That, and kicking away from Harbin...sheesh.

MC ran for 267 yards on maybe the second best 6A defense three weeks ago and its not like it all came in the 4th quarter with a running clock. Combined with this being a trap game for Trinity, I think it will take a lot more effort and discipline to win this one in fashion. Triple option is no cupcake to stop and requires a lot of focus, solid tackling and attention to the details. Just ask Jack Harbaugh!
