I'd be hesitant about that hire as well. If Scott is serious about their program they need a hire they believe will give them a solid run, not just chasing the next big thing. And with a track record of only  staying a place for a few years, It would be tough not to go with someone else.

4 years of winning is going to be over the next 6,7, 8 years atleast.

I agree with statement. If I'm a parent of a future Scott player I'm hoping they hire a guy maybe a little younger a little hungrier to prove themselves. That's gonna stay around for a while and see those next 5-8 maybe 10 years out. Whoever takes this job probably needs to understand winning might be secondary to building their culture and standards in those early years. Glad too see Perrin and Trimnell were on the list if that is in fact true.

THIS ENTIRE POST! They've went the "outsider" route and that certainly didn't pan out. I would certainly be looking for someone who has a "connection" to the Scott HS and the Scott HS Community. There is an abundance of talent in the Taylor Mill area and there needs to be a way to keep those kids "home", especially given the great facilities they have. Parents have choices and with Kenton Co. having open enrollment there needs to be a "reason" to keep those student-athletes in the Scott pipeline. Just my take.

Should be hearing the new Head Coach this week before Christmas break.

From what I understand. It's Noone with Scott ties. So yet another outside hire. I'm hoping it works out better then the last 4 coaches have been. JMO of course.

I wouldn't put much into "Scott ties" as much as I would is the coach going to integrate into the community and build a staff who is going to do the same. 

You have to get someone in the building. If Perrin cannot be in the building, he cannot be the guy, but the new coach should reach out and try to get him on staff.

It amazes me that so many get caught up with "the coach has to be in the building". Seems funny to me when the both the current Scott boys and girls basketball coaches are "not in the building" but seem to functioning quite well. I could be wrong, but the football team has a couple of assistant coaches who ARE in the building and could very well be on staff with whomever takes over the program. The best coach, in or out of the building, should get the job, just like the basketball coaches, IMO.

It's not so much people "being caught up" with the idea of Coach in the building. That and HC experience are criteria the Administration has put forth previously. So it's a matter of connecting previous goals of their's.

 

I believe the Boys basketball coach was there prior to the AD being hired. So he had no say in that.

What head football coaches are not in the building right now in NKY? I know NCC for sure. Logistically, you have to be in the building or majority of your staff has to be in the building.
