No offense taken from your question, but why would I throw out names of Coaches that are interested? What does that do other than stir the pot/create a potential distraction? The position is not even open...and it may very well stay that way.  Interest in a program is not hard to garner when you dominate single A NKY and have near 50% participation rate in Football compared to male enrollment. It's a great job and would be hard to give up, as well as great to get if you ask me. 

Hearing there is a quiet abundance of support from players and some in the community for former DC Dave Marsh. Pretty sure he is a Georgetown guy. Which the school has had alot of success with Woolley and Campbell.

Just don't know if Coach Fisk would go with a Coach without HC experience. But if said Coach brings energy, commitment, organization and coordinator experience that should trump that in my opinion.

Will former Scott player Nelson Perrin apply for this job? I think he is the OC at Holy Cross this year. Fits alot of qualities listed above.

He's only 26, but he was the first name I thought of when I saw the job was open. I don't know if he'll apply, and based on history, I don't know that he's "experienced" enough for Scott to seriously consider him. But having coached him, and coached with him, I think he'd be a solid choice. He's going to be a head coach someday, somewhere.

Is Nelson a teacher? I know one of the hangups in the hiring process is a "teacher in the building". He would be an interesting hire non the less.

At the bare minimum I think he can be a substitute teacher. I know he has been working on the teacher thing for a while trying to get that box checked.

Anybody who gets the job will need a longer leash. It can turnaround, but will take more than a year or two.

This is why I believe it needs a younger (with some experience) Coach to grow and build with the program. I don't think an older Coach towards the middle or end of their career is the best fit.

An older guy worked with Dave Campbell (he was in his late 40's I think) when they were in an even worse position. He was an experienced guy, in the middle of (and what turned out to be the end) of his head coaching career. I don't think young guys own the high energy/ability to turn programs around. The right guy is the right guy regardless of how old he is.

Oh, my an older guy who had at least 20 more years until Social Security eligible.  How much help did he need getting to the field?  How can older guys hang on this long?
