If I had a say, I'd be looking at one of their former assistants, who now has the job at Boone.  Boone has many more challenges for a young head coach than does Scott and despite this, he produced more wins this season including a win over Scott.

I don't think so. I think Boone and Scott have more in common than there are differences. In hindsight, Dan Court probably should have been Scott's guy when they hired Franklin (I'm pretty sure he applied). I wouldn't think he would be interested this time around.....his next move would likely be up, and Scott would be more of a lateral move at best. 

I think it is interesting that on a playoff week, there are 47 comments on the Scott job which I am not sure is 100%  official, unless I missed an announcement from the school. So to me, I say it is positive that there are some people in the Scott community that cares for the kids and the program.

So if this does become official, we need to remember this impacts 1) current coaches and their families, 2) current players because now they are starting over again 3) potential new players because the relationships that were built are no longer present.  Because as stated in a previous thread, Scott can't afford to lose anyone.

1. A young successful assistant from one of the local NKY high schools.

2. This young coach needs to hire a experienced assistants with local ties.

3. The new coaches needs to get active in the community. Pound the feeder systems. Scott losses so many players to other local schools. Get alumni involved.

4. The middle school needs to practice or at least the same area with the high school. I could be wrong, but I thought that is what Lloyd did a number of year ago

5. The middle school needs to run a similar system as a high school

If the search committee is looking for a young, proven leader to take on a challenge, Coach Trimnell  down at Bellevue fits that description perfectly. In his mid-30s, Trimnell he’s  spent the last 12 years building his reputation. He spent five years at Newcath, a part of the staff that went to Two state semi finals  and 4 regional finals . Over the past three years, Trimnell has been the DC at bellevue the last 3 years, Coach 100% played a key role in what can only be described as a complete program revival. When he arrived, the Tigers had not fielded a team for the duration of a full season in the three seasons prior. In his first year, the team went 4-6, followed by  back to back 500 seasons, marking steady improvement each year. According to KHSAA, Bellevue’s defense under Trimnell bellevue  has ranked among the top in several defensive categories, which just proves his ability to build and sustain competitive units even during a rebuild. Beyond the results, Trimnell has been a driving force in restoring pride and purpose within the Bellevue football community. He is always active in feeder programs, visible in the community, and seems pretty committed to the growth of his players both on and off the field. Coach Trimnell is the kind of candidate that will probably filling out a lot of applications if has many jobs open as some think will be.  Dudes young enough but proven assistant with strong local ties, the ability to surround himself with experienced staff, and a genuine investment in community engagement and player development. His track record at NewCath and Bellevue defiantly says that he not only understands what a successful program looks like, but also how to build one from the ground up.

Great post.  If anyone has a tie to Scott this name should be passed along.

This open position has the makings to help determine Scott’s athletics future. If you look at the past successful groups in the “big 3” (football, basketball, baseball), Scott’s success in one has been mostly synonymous with the others. The classes of kids that stuck together and didn’t transfer out, did well. 
 

Coaches in the other 2 sports, Fromeyer and Dragan, seem to be poised for more runs in their respective sports but if you asked them, they’d undoubtedly tell you they have lost big talent because those kids that also play basketball & baseball don’t want to play football at Scott. The likes of HC, SK, Beechwood, etc have all benefited. This hire can break the trend and rebuild the athletic culture at Scott or continue the carousel it’s been the last few hires and leave the rest of the programs waving goodbye to their feeder programs.

I know the new administration at Scott are big sports people and will have a clear vision for what they want.

Can someone elaborate on what exactly happened? If a new coach comes in I am sure he would want to know the Admin would support him and he wouldn't be faced with the same situation later on down the line. What exactly do you think their non negotiables be in a coach? Saw they have had several 7-5 and 8-5 seasons and then ran into the Boyle Counties and Highlands of the world. Is that the expectations? Is it loftier than that? I do not know the temperature of the area in what is expected from Scott.
