Bengals 33 Steelers 31

Awesome win for the Bengals. And for all the bad talk about Flacco, likely not as much on here but around overall, especially social media and other ways online, Flacco has proven what I thought he would. If he has offensive talent around him, he will do good. The talent in Cincinnati is day and night different from what Flacco had in Cleveland.

  • Maybe Burrow will learn from this and start throwing the ball away.  People who said that Burrow was responsible for some of the sacks were routinely dismissed.  After 2 games, it sure seems like they

A big thank you to @MaddenCurse44for buying a ticket and supporting the Bengals franchise and seeing the Bengals win and see Chase dominate Ramsey and the whole Steelers secondary! I would say another

I don’t know if he is cooler under pressure. However, he definitely is fine with throwing the ball away if pressured or nothing there. While Burrow will end up taking hits cause of him looking to exte

And Higgins made a very smart decision to slide near the end to make Pittsburgh take their timeouts.

I like how the game played out. And I’m glad Tee went down instead of scoring bc Rodger’s was tearing the Defense up. Would it help Joe Burrow if the Bengals could convince Flacco to stay on as the backup for next season?

The final was 33-31 but the stats show it was not really that close.

First Downs:

Bengals 27 Steelers 19

Total Plays:

Bengals 72 Steelers 54

Total Yards:

Bengals 470 Steelers 396

Passing Yards:

Bengals 328 Steelers 249

Turnovers:

Bengals 0 Steelers 2

Rushing Yards:

Steelers 147 Bengals 142

Time of Possession:

Bengals 34:32 Steelers 25:28

WHO DEY!!

I’d love to see the numbers for quarters 2 through 4.  Bengals offense absolutely dominated the vaunted Steelers in minutes 15-60.

Is what we have seen out of Joe Flacco so much different than what we had with Ken Anderson back in the day?  Anderson was a rather immobile pocket passer, who made a career out of flair passes and handing off the football to his backs.  In very rare occasions was he a threat to run himself, but like we saw from Flacco last night, Anderson would occasionally pick up a few yards and then give himself up.

Flacco, even in this state of his career still has a quick release, a strong throwing arm, far superior receivers, and can connect with the long ball.

The trick to his having continued success until we can get Joe 1.0 back, is to get some modicum of protection from his O-Line.  Duh!

Just sayin!  Anderson played here for 16 years, and is bantered as a Hall of Famer,  with much the same tools that Flacco still possesses today.

Yes they are.

They are indeed.  And had the chance to all but seal the deal last night.  It will be interesting to see where things stand a month from now.

Good points! Anderson should be in the HOF.

I really think the Browns did that trade for Flacco. He did a lot for them in his time there and I think they didn't want to deny him the chance to start. They didn't want to be jerks, make him sit on the bench and end his career that way.

Well, when you have a future HOF, Ring of Honor, and jersey retiree as a backup to the backup the handwriting was on the wall.

Steelers still running the North  in first place!

However the Bengals at 2-0 have the best record in the North.

Rodgers had a great game 23/34 249 4 tds 2 ints

Warren had a great game 16 carries 127 yards

Freiemuth 5 catches 111 yards 2 tds

Smith and Washington both tds.

Oline gave up no sacks

Defense only got 2 sacks amd no ints can't wait for the rematch.

Really good points.

Yet it still was enough. ?

Flacco had a better game 31/47 342 yards 3 tds and 0 ints

Brown just 11 carries for 108 yards and 9.8 yards per carry

Chase 23 targets 16 catches for 161 yards 1 TD

Higgins 10 targets for 96 yards 1 TD

Those two weird wins the Bengals pulled off early in the season could end up being a blessing by the time it’s all said and done.

Could be the reverse of the weird loss they had to open the season last year at home to the Patriots that kept them out of the playoffs.
