Yes, still doesn't explain the questioned post.

What's the harm in it? Perhaps he wanted to make it clear he expected to be back?

Anti climactic. I considered this a done deal after your first post. ?

From Clutch Sports a few hours ago.

The Kentucky basketball team picked up an intriguing commitment from the college basketball transfer portal on Monday. Former Miami Ohio center Reece Potter announced that he will play for Mark Pope and the Wildcats next season. Potter has spent the last two seasons playing for the RedHawks, and at 7’1″, he is a force down low. Potter is bringing good size and potential to Lexington.

Reece Potter went to Lexington Catholic High School.

Welcome home!

UK added Brayden Hawthorne this evening. A 6'8 wing out of West Virginia who really climbed the ranging this year. Currently considered a top 40 recruit.

How do the experts here feel about the roster now? I have zero clue on how good anyone is until a few games into the season.

I am no expert, but I have researched some of the incoming players just to get an idea on them. The one thing I can say, is Mark Pope definitely went out and got the guys he wanted to play in "his system". Bigs that can stretch the floor, a bunch of shooters, and some dudes that should be able to DRASTICALLY improve the defense that we saw a year ago. One of the things I like about this team is that you can play any of the 1-12 guys and not seem to drop in the level of talent.

Now, they still have to come together and gel and figure out how they all work together, but individually, you have to like what Pope and staff have put together.

This is a brief exchange between KSR's Matt Jones and Coach Pope.

KSR’s Matt Jones told Pope that he and Pat Kelsey are too nice. “Louisville fans don’t hate you, and we don’t hate Pat Kelsey,” he said during Pope’s sit-down with KSR.

Pope tried playing up the animosity with a playful reply. “I hate this Pat Kelsey and all of those Louisville fans! Hate ’em!”

He didn’t fool anyone.

I actually love the mutual respect these 2 coaches have for each other.

Did Matt try to interrupt or talk over Coach Pope like he does everyone else?

I only heard snippets, but no.

Did I miss it. Did they raise the amount of scholarship players allowed on a roster? With how so many people transfer these days. At least by having so many guys on the roster, even if you lose some people to the draft and portal. You still at least have a chance to have some guys left that were around the year before, when you have so many guys. On the flip side you also will lose a few when players see you add so many guys, as in the case with Travis Perry leaving.

Not a UK fan but I like and respect Mark Pope.

Go Irish!  (In a basketball forum that is almost sacrilegious).

Might have been one of Matt Jones' best interviews.  I don't now if anyone else heard what led to the interview but it was basically a tirade early Monday about how KSR has no way of contacting UK coaches with the exception of Stoops and that has evidently been a long standing thing.  Yet Pat Kelsey and Brohm, et al give them their cell numbers and are always wanting to come on the show.  Evidently this also includes JMI not allowing some of this along with the UK athletic department stance that they, in Matt's words, "are playing the we are in charge and control the media."  He was pretty critical of the entire set up.
