16thBBall Fan Posted February 23, 2025 Posted February 23, 2025 The Cats (18-9) (7-7) travel to Oklahoma to take on the Sooners (17-10) (4-10) in their first ever meeting as SEC opponents. The Sooners defeated Miss. State 93-87 on Saturday at home while the Cats fought hard but fell to #4 ranked Alabama by 13 at 96-83. The game is on Wednesday, Feb. 26th at 9:00pm on the SEC Network. Go Cats!! 1
Voice of Reason Posted February 23, 2025 Posted February 23, 2025 For tournament seeding, this is a must win. If UK loses, they will end the regular season with a losing record in the SEC. And this team really, really needs the best seed they can get in the tournaments.
nikeman49 Posted February 23, 2025 Posted February 23, 2025 Really need our full squad back on the floor for this game, but will have to wait and see what happens, with them really like our chances here, without probably will be a struggle. 1

Agreed they need this win to help with seeding for the SEC. However, even if they were to lose this game. That would put them one game below .500 in SEC play with still 3 SEC regular season games to go. So they could lose this game and still end up above .500 if they were to win their last 3.

They aren't beating Auburn. That sets up Missouri as a huge, almost season determining game to end the regular season.

With that said I’m not sure you can definitely say this team isn’t beating Auburn, especially with the game at home. UK seems to play its best against the top teams, hence their 5 and 2 record against top 10 teams in the NET rankings. Plus apparently they are targeting having Butler back by that game too. If Butler is back, then I definitely think they have a shot playing at home. Playing at Oklahoma actually scares me a little more, with it being on the road and still not fully healthy. 1

Agreed, especially if Butler is back and possibly Robinson.

Speaking of Mizzou, I didn’t realize until their Saturday game at Arkansas that they were 0-18 in conference last season. What a turnaround.
Jumper_Dad Posted February 24, 2025 Posted February 24, 2025 UK has struggled in games like this all year. I hope they find a way to win it.

Could not agree more. I am no Auburn expert. I have seen 3 games. Duke, Alabama and Georgia. The team that played Georgia looked really average. Lack of interest? Perhaps. But very unimpressive. 1
hrcarrier Posted February 25, 2025 Posted February 25, 2025 Huge game for the Wildcats, it has the feel of a must win game.
sportsfan41 Posted February 26, 2025 Posted February 26, 2025 Butler and Robinson are both listed as probable for tonight's game. I just hope they're close to 100% if they try to play. If not, I'd say let them keep rehabbing until senior night next week against LSU.
cincyswords Posted February 26, 2025 Posted February 26, 2025 They can win both games this week if Butler and Robinson play. Need to get a little time in this first one to be ready for the game Saturday.
