Bengals have used a 1st round pick on a DE 2 of the last 3 years. Now if they end up trading Hendrickson, then yeah getting Clowney could be useful. However, the Bengals biggest issue on the Dline is in the interior, not at ends. Which they actually invested two picks on interior Dline two drafts ago too. So they definitely have been trying to address it, and with so much money tied into the offense. They have to use the draft to try to build the defense.

Your 2 best DE are holding out.

Lou is a good coach and will land somewhere.  But I agree with him being let go.  The defense was consistently mediocre with flashes of really good play.  That side of the ball here needs a new voice.

Ha well Hendrickson definitely is an issue if he doesn’t play this year. As far as our first round draft pick, there isn’t much there lol he is still there every day for every team meeting. Out on the practice field for everything. He literally just isn’t doing the drills yet. Not much of a story to him not doing drills yet. That only becomes much of a story or concern to me if it carries into training camp.

Physical reps are important especially learning a new system. Bengals ownership is the worst.

They will miss him this year along with Hendrickson.  One of the worst ran franchises. No respect for good players.

Stewart contract is just more of the Bengals doing Bengals things.  Easiest deals in the NFL are the slotted draft pick contracts.  Bengals trying to set a precedent with language that basically states if you screw up this year you don’t get future guaranteed money.  This same language was not in the Bengals first pick last year.  Here we are, missing reps from a guy that needs them.  Not to mention how petty it makes the organization look and starts a new relationship off on the wrong foot.  Stewart was patient and at the stadium for the volunteer stuff.  I don’t blame him for putting it out there.

Trey Hendrickson not attending the Bengals mandatory 3 day minicamp.

Bengals gonna Bengal. Why anyone continues buying season tickets or even single game tickets with the hope “this is the year”, I don’t understand.

Worst team in the AFC North feel bad for their fans and their players.

I am still on the side of the player but as I have researched this more it’s not as unusual in the NFL as I originally thought.  It’s hard to find all the details about NFL contracts but it’s a fact that contracts in the NFL with very similar clauses do exist.  Again I am still on the side of Stewart on this one but thought it was worth sharing.  I don’t have all the details but as an example I believe that Jameson Williams, from the Lions, was suspended in 2022 which made his option bonuses in 2023-2025 no longer guaranteed.  I assume he still got them, since he had no other troubles and played those seasons for the Lions.

They seem to win in spite of themselves, at least recently.  They have the 2nd most wins in the division over the past 3 years and are tied for the most wins over the past 4 years.
