Once upon a time, I'd read somewhere that it is possible he could try to be drafted next year vs signing from this draft. No clue if that's true and it said nothing about him being to play in college this season. Which I would imagine if he isn't playing in the NFL or NCAA he isn't getting paid. 

 

My next question is this. After this show with the Bengals, right, wrong or indifferent, I can't imagine it doesn't hurt him in next years draft, especially as he was considered a bit of a gamble in terms of actual college game productivity. Perhaps I'm wrong, but not signing with the Bengals doesn't seem like we a smart move to me.

Agree.  Read somewhere (source ?) that the Bengals did not want to pay him his rookie draft slot bonus upfront.  Can we actually be fighting over trivia like that or is the “good human/law abiding clause so critical of concern by the Bengals.

The Bengals with that clause is simply doing the same thing that mostly every NFL team has in their contracts now. So Stewart literally would be having to have that clause in his contract, if any other team had drafted him. 
 

This whole situation reads more like an agent trying to make a name for himself, especially after having a few other players drop him in the last year and having only 9 current NFL players under contract he represents. The Bengals obviously have a bad reputation nationally, so perfect situation for his agent to show how he is fighting for what’s “right” for his players. 
 

At the end of the day this is probably hurting Stewart more than the Bengals. If Stewart were to take the drastic route of not playing and entering next years draft. He loses millions of dollars most likely and won’t be a first rounder and probably falls much further. Then even if he does sign this year. He is only hurting himself, as he is someone that needs to go out and produce if he wants to get to where the real big money is at. Which is the second nfl contract.

Chiefs extend 4th year, 24 year old edge George Karlaftis 4 years for $93million with $63million guaranteed.  In his first three years he had 25 sacks for 8.3 per season.  Still had 1 year left on his 2022 rookie deal, plus franchise tag extensions.   Almost half the production level of Hendrickson plus Karlaftis had the advantage of playing opposite edge to an All-Pro.  Hmmmm?  Bengals not extending Hendrickson because a contract is a contract?

Mike Brown's comments where funny. He doesn't want to pay someone that gets put in jail. Maybe draft high character players that don't get in trouble.  What a mess.

Guess the “good human, law abiding clause” is too, restrictive.  Speeding has got to be a non-negotiable for any young millionaire driving his new Porsche 911.  Heck at 17 I can even remember pushing my ‘52 Chevy to top out at 72mph on Route #10.  Come on Mike, be reasonable, even you can remember racing that Packard home from prep school.?️

Henderickson is not reporting to training camp today. What is funny is Mike Brown basically said that Trey Henderickson is tough to deal with. I think Trey Henderickson could say the same thing about Brown and he would be a lot more accurate. Watt, Garrett, and Crosby all signed new deals this off season with 3 years guaranteed. The Bengals and Henderickson had agreed on the framework of a two-year deal but the Bengals will only guarantee 1 year of the two years. UNREAL!!

On ESPN this morning Adam Schefter said he talked yesterday with Henderickson and believes he will not play this season unless he gets both years of his extension guaranteed. 

Mike Brown said they where not cheap. Let's  not forget they didn't want to pay the following players. Mixon, Whitworth, Steinbeck, Bates, Boyd, the big DT that went to Detroit. I am sure there are plenty more.

He had 6.5 vs. AFC North teams in 6 games. He had 0 vs. Ravens in two games. He had 3.5 vs. Steelers in two games. He had 3 vs. Browns in two games.

I agree it works out to just over 1 per game vs. them but to me the big # was 0 against the best team in the North in the Ravens.
