Dead period is over and as I'm sitting here looking at the calendar, we only have five more Fridays before the Trinity Shamrocks strap on the pads for real and open the 2025 season!!!

Trinity enters the 2025 season as the reigning back-to-back champs in 6A and looking to capture that heralded 30th overall state title.

Here’s a look at the Rocks’ schedule:

8/9 - Scrimmage vs Springfield (Ohio)

8/22 vs PRP

8/29 vs Frederick Douglass

9/5 at Moeller (Ohio)

9/12 vs Carmel (Ind.)

9/19 at Male

9/26 vs St. Xavier (at Cardinal Stadium)

10/3 at Cincinnati St. Xavier (Ohio)

10/10 at Ballard

10/17 vs Eastern

10/24 vs Oldham County 

 

Trinity has had many young stars come to the forefront over the past two seasons who are now juniors. That heralded class includes two-year starting QB Zane Johnson, RB JB Berry, as well as WRs Jason Hagan and Nation Roe-McBroom, and others. While I’ve heard of some guys being “banged up” in the spring and summer among that offensive core, there still has to be much confidence in what the Rocks can do on that side of the ball. Not to mention is senior OL Nate Shields, a the rest of that O-Line, stays healthy for a full year. 

 

Also very excited about the D-line once again. Sebastian Blue, Keandre Thompson, and Jahbarri Frost the headlining names back after strong sophomore and junior seasons in ’24. Myles Howez and Sonny Bratcher-Gray looking to be the leaders in the DB room. Watch out for Elijah Burns-Crump, as well. 

 

What do I expect from the Shamrocks in 2025? Well, as always, it is a championship or bust mentality on Shelbyville Rd.

Is McBroom still at Trinity? I thought he transferred.

That Moeller game will be very interesting. The QB for a Moeller is an absolute stud. I can’t pronounce or spell his name but he’s awesome. Will Ts defense be up to the task?

Updates - McBroom transferred across the river to an Indiana school, Taylor thought better about transferring to KCD and will remain at Trinity, an impressive D lineman transferred to Trinity from St X and a strong WR/TE transferred from Campbellsville to the Rocks (sorry, do not know their names).

Rocks preseason ranked #66 in the USA by High School Football America.
 

Only Kentucky high school ranked in Top 100. Trinity opponents Moeller ranked #45 and Cincinnati St. Xavier ranked #127.

Rock fans. Do yourself a favor and make the drive north to Springfield (northeast of Dayton) to watch Trinity scrimmage a stronger version (Ohio version) of FD or Male. The Wildcats have been state runner up in the Ohio large school class 3 of the last 4 years. Trinity and Springfield have scrimmaged home and home for several years now and it is high level competition. 

Trinity #1 and their opponent Moeller #1 in Ohio and #35 in the Nation. Despite being #1 in Kentucky the Shamrocks weren't in the Maxpreps top 100 in the Nation.

Correct. But, HSFA had the Rocks preseason #66 in the nation.

Does anyone know if Fr. Jeremiah Quick (nephew of Trinity legend James Quick) will be dressing/seeing the field at all this year? Freshman used to not play varsity until playoffs but Zane, Sekou, and co. changed that a few years ago. Seems like a load of talent.
