As I understand, there are not too many Kentucky programs reaching out to Trinity. In the recent past, Trinity has offered to pay for visiting teams transportation and a meal while they visit St. Matthews.

In fairness, very few teams in Kentucky are in a position to add the Shamrocks to their schedule.  However, paying for transportation and a good meal is a kind offer.

Out of curiosity, how many dress for Trinity and St X?  Is this just 10-12 grades or all grades?

PRP adding Trinity doesn't seem like a good idea for PRP's kids.

Especially to open the season.

Of course it varies somewhat year to year, the actual dress list has been cut by Trinity after the covid deal. It is usually around 75. That leaves about 15-20 sophomores/juniors off the dress list.   St. Xavier is very similar, maybe averaging 10-15 more players. An extremely talented freshman can make the varsity travel squad. This past season saw one Trinity kicker on the varsity until the playoffs.  For what its worth, the St. Xavier enrollment is around 1,100 and Trinity's is near 1,200.

In St. X whole program from Frosh through Senior have around 190 kids and that probably fluctuates + or - 5 to 10 kids a year. Trinity probably similar.

What about the recent article from the Courier-Journal on Trinity football?  What effect will it and its ramifications have on Trinity Football for 2025?

My guess is this will be settled out of court and the expense of insurance companies. A change in assistant coaches may or may not be forthcoming.

Can someone give a synopsis of the article?

I don’t follow the CJ.

Below is a link to the CJ article.  It basically states that Trinity had a player go down with a heat injury.  According to the article, they botched the handling of the heat issue and additionally had some inappropriate conduct by a coach in dealing with it.  If what the article states is true, then it is pretty bad.

Thank you for posting.

That article is missing a lot of information and there was almost no consideration for our staff, which we've come to expect...

Word from Sherrin Avenue is that the Rocks have hired former NFL and Louisville Cardinal Breno Giacomini to help coach offensive line. Giacomini is a longtime NFL veteran with a Super Bowl ring from the 2013 Seattle Seahawks victory. He also was 2nd team All-Big East while blocking for Brian Brohm and the Cardinals. Should be a tremendous addition to Coach Cobb's staff and a team that returns All-State candidates Nate Shields and Dakari Beckham.

Have also heard that former PRP HC Tommy Williams has joined the staff to work with QBs and the offense in an undetermined role (by me anyway!) He had several solid years with the Panthers and was beloved by their community it seems.

Great offseason underway for the Rocks so far!  ☘️
