Private schools rely on boosters a lot since don't get tax money so I can see where they can have influence if have a big check book.

Public schools are not immune from this issue.

  • We just checked the list against ours. Interestingly, DeSales football currently has each and every one of those players listed as a 10 out of 10. (Go Colts!)

  • It is ridiculous for Twitter feeds or radio shows to report stuff like this without verification.    Once it is out on those places, it becomes fair game for commentary on forums such as this.

A few weeks ago there was speculation that Chris Wolfe was leaving Male. He should be close to having his 27 years in public education and eligible for KTRS retirement. If (and that's a big if) Coach Wallace were to leave, would he be a possible replacement? Sure knows the landscape of Louisville area football and has had success at Male. Just a thought.

He and maybe Baisch at LexCath (if they want it "within the family"), maybe also Cantwell.

Good for Coach Wallace!

I cannot locate original post on Twitter (X). Where did Coach Wallace post this in addition to Football Of Kentucky DBA?

I was going to say, are we to trust Football of Kentucky DBA now? I'm confused!

Why would Coach Wallace announce retirement now with a $6,000,000 training facility on the horizon? His son works in Louisville for U of L, so he has family ties here. The post referenced above does not appear on St. Xavier website (www.saintx.com) and I could not locate on Twitter.

Pretty sure that post is on Instagram. And I'm with Conch and others, "Football of Kentucky DBA," suffers from credibility issues.

As to his retirement, I think he's in his mid-sixties and has coached 40+ years. Time to move on to a non-football stage of life?

Strange that St. X did not report this first as the “official” announcement. Seems they are playing catch up.

If Jason Frakes says its true, it must be true! This is reported on his C-J by-line with quotes. I suppose the St. Xavier school president's job is safe for now and leading the nationwide search for Wallace's future replacement.

Wallace, who will turn 64 on Christmas Day, said he's planning to move back to his hometown of Bowling Green with his wife, Dana.

"It's about time to go back," Wallace said. "I don't know what I'll do with my time. I don't know what will grab me. Nothing's going to replace the relationship part, the competitive part. All of that will be new to me because this is all I've ever known. ... I'm at the age now where I kind of want to see what it's like to go where I want to go on a weekend or not have to take every vacation on spring break or during the dead period."

Have you not been listening to Amy Sample, no story here!

I think it seems clear that Coach Wallace wanted the announcement to come from him directly to the media without St. X playing a role in presenting this news. The President at St. X seemed very much “reactive” once the news was out via the media. But again, nothing to see at Poplar Level Road.
