I have no idea and never claimed to I have no contact with the program other than being a fan I just believe unless it came directly from one of those two guys or the Glasgow administration it’s hearsay.

My information came from the committee.

Guys I know someone that was recently approached and offered a job that needs turning around. He asked for $25,000. The immediate response was no problem we can do that. I am not saying that is common

  • IF you truly want to be a HC, being a 2nd/3rd option doesn't matter.  Get in there, do the job and win.  Doesn't matter how you got there IMO.

  • I’ll tell ya why he would leave hart co, the last 2 years he’s had teams full of covid holdovers and he won’t have that next year.

So the whole committee met with you and told you this is what happened. I just hate the people get on here and drag a schools name through the mud and then say they did the same thing before. If you don’t like the school that’s fine but to call the administration liars seems a little harsh to me.

I’ve just stated what I’ve been told and I’ve never had a problem with Glasgow.

As someone who has paid attention to this program for the last 4-5 years and admired for many years prior and have been watching this thread very frequently. These rumors are essentially fact. This KY coaching fraternity runs deep in this area and coaches talk. This top 5 program in Central KY with a plethora of athletes, top teacher pay for the area, administrative support, and investment in facilities has not kept up with the surrounding areas and times. They had 3 paid assistants and 2 volunteers last year because this program refuses to attract quality assistants. They have new administration all around in the last few years, from the superintendent, high school principal, both assistant principals, and seem to approve of extracurriculars, but do not seem to truly value it. This is not the Glasgow that won 9 out of 12 district championships from 2010-2021. There are a lot of good people who care about these kids in the staff, who have largely coached many of the kids since middle school, but it just feels like they are succeeding in spite of the parents and administration, not with their support.

I don't blame Coach Griffin for everything involved, he did the exact same thing last year when he was offered the barren county job, he wants what is best for himself and his family. Glasgow seems to be okay allowing it to happen. It's just another job vacancy that needs to be filled for them. Surprising to me how they seem content allowing a coach take so much time in deciding, allegedly a 3rd personal option of his, when another candidate is hungry for the opportunity and qualified. Perhaps Glasgow is taking this approach because they have the recently retired coach Garmon in their back pocket who loves the program so much has publicly stated he would resume coaching duties is they couldn't find anyone better to replace him and potentially become an assistant if the new coach needed help.

Todays the day! Maybe.

Early reports are Griffin is staying at Hart Co.

Maybe it’s time to give Arnett a call!

I wonder what happens if Arnett turns them down after all this. If Griffin really is staying at Hart this feels like a completely fumbled process.

With people confirming that there were in fact interviews and that there were offer(s) made the longer this goes the worse it looks. I am not faulting anyone but from the outside looking in it appears to me that there are multiple moving pieces in this hiring process but the problem is they are all moving independently of one another and not working as a unit. I have no stake in this process of school but as the process goes I would think it has to be starting to cause potential prospects to be leery of what working there might be like.

So on top of tall the speculation and timing of this process...it sounds like Coach Garmon was somewhat forced out as well.

Is this a committee hire or a Principal hire?  Or a committee that is in place so the powers at be can hide behind that process and hire who they want?

I’ve always thought that if you’re forcing someone out, it’s to try and place someone in. In this case, if that’s true, I can tell you that it’s been a failed mission.

I wonder if Jackson Arnett’s phone is burning up right now…
