Would griffin actually leave Hart for Glasgow?

Not sure, could probably use it as leverage for Hart though.

Guys I know someone that was recently approached and offered a job that needs turning around. He asked for $25,000. The immediate response was no problem we can do that. I am not saying that is common

  • IF you truly want to be a HC, being a 2nd/3rd option doesn't matter.  Get in there, do the job and win.  Doesn't matter how you got there IMO.

  • I’ll tell ya why he would leave hart co, the last 2 years he’s had teams full of covid holdovers and he won’t have that next year.

Maybe this. He built Hart from the ground up and is reaping the benefits of his and his staff's investments currently. They've lost two games in two years. It would be hard for me to see him bouncing after he is just recently getting to see the fruition of the program.

Have we determined if this job is in fact open or if it was a retire/rehire situation? Also @Big East Zebra who has interest in the job or who does the school have interest in?

My source tells me the school and the Coach both have mutual interest.

I am going to assume that it is Jackson Arnett or Griffin as they have been the only two names given so far. I too have heard that they have interest in Arnett but I have not been able to get anything other than rumors.

I do know they have spoken to someone that you have mentioned and asked him directly if he had any interest in the job, and would he be willing to take it. He has answered in the affirmative and has officially applied for this position. I also know they have to keep the req open for 30 days due to KRS statues, and would like to make a hire right after the new year.

The reason he would leave it regardless how good a coach he is Hart Co. is not going to stay up forever they just don’t have year in and year out talent in Hart Co. Glasgow has a down year every 12-15 years but year in and year out they usually have quite a bit of talent. That being said over the long term Glasgow is a easier job to be successful at just simply because of talent.

Very true, but Glasgow is not used to Barren County being as good as they were this year!!

I don’t think that means anything to the Scotties in the grand scheme of things. With that being said I do see a world where Glasgow makes a hire that may not be what some parents want and could see them wanting to send their son to Barren County under the leadership Myers has to offer. How long will he be there with the Trojans though? Not too long if I had to guess, interesting situation going on indeed, if I was Hart County’s Coach I have a hard time believing he wouldn’t be interested in the change of scenery, I’m sure Glasgow has had quite a bit of interest.

Barren Co. has passed Glasgow in terms of facilities to a significant degree. It is clear that Barren Co. is invested in getting better while Glasgow appears to have gotten a little complacent.

Glasgow has new bleachers, press box, locker rooms, practice facility it’s all been upgraded in the past 5 years after Barren did their upgrades actually the only difference is Barren has a turf field is that really where we’re at in high school football now that you have to have a turf field to be invested.

All Glasgow has done from a facility standpoint is put lipstick on a pig. I agree with @VF111, Glasgow has gotten complacent in every aspect of their program. Hart County has better facilities, not to mention how far they are behind Barren county. I also believe the pay scale is behind Barren and Hart.

And, when you have a Bermuda surface as 1st class as Glasgow’s…there is no need for turf IMO.

Please explain, I don’t understand how building complexity new facilities from the ground up is putting lipstick on a pig. Barren and Hart have had a couple good classes and that’s where it ends they will never be great year end and year out and if you believe that you are living in a dream world.

Comparing Glasgow’s facilities to Barren is comical. There is not one single aspect of Glasgow’s facilities that is on par with Barren’s.

A willingness to argue the comparability of Glasgow’s facilities to Barren’s, may be indicative of what has allowed places like Barren and Hart to pass the Scotties.
