I’m hearing Stonebreaker as a front runner.

I'm not doubting you, but it seems like he's the leader for every job that comes open.

Not me. Good luck to the Admirals and whoever takes over. A ton of potential and great administration to work with.

Steve Stonebraker would get a call from me before a few of these names. I also think he would answer.

  • I can probably say with certainty the first 3 won’t even answer. Clevinger is in a better spot, Hawkins is at an athlete rich school with a good paycheck, and Johnson has everything he could ever want

I also wonder if Josh Jaggers will be in the mix for this job.  I think they reached out to him 4 years ago when Peach was hired.

Sad to see the Danville program down so much.

Tough gig when Boyle is rolling like it is. Still should be enough talent to go around.

I'm not sure what is going on with Jaggers, but appears the last two stops he has had didn't go well. He left Shelby mid-season.

Another early departure would be the worst thing for Danville.

I hope Danville can get the right coach and other changes right for the school if necessary. Regardless of what part of KY you are from, it’s been very weird with the Admirals football program not being relevant. Best of luck to Danville.

Danville has been on the decline for some time and the program is at a low, it started in Clevenger's last years.

Clevenger 5-8,3-7, and 5-3 in the covid year. 13-18 his last three years-fired

Peach was 13-11 the next two years, decided to leave, probably seen the writing on the wall

Parks 0-22 nothing more to say

Danville 26-51 over the last 7 years, there may be no recovery at this point. They must hire the right person that can keep kids there. Hopefully things turn around for them.

My only critique would be Clevenger's last few years saw the rise of Somerset/LCA as the two best teams in 2A.  The Ads were done no favors by the intra-district playoff format during those years either, so that led to early playoff exits when the Ads could've at least won 1 playoff game had they been cross-districted.  The schedule was also pretty tough even though the talent wasn't what it was during the state title win in 2017.  So yes, he had some losing years but any observer knew that the Ads win-loss record wasn't the whole story.  The talent was about to turn the corner again, though, and if he'd stayed I think the Ads would've been in the hunt for some titles.  The talent that has gone to Boyle and helped them is a testament to that.  He would've had even more at his disposal than what Peach did and Peach came close to making the final 8 with the Ads in his last year.

The Ads do return a lot of their players for next year as this year's squad was young.  The 8th graders coming in are a good athletic group too.  So that is one of the attractions to this job IMO.  You are 100% right that the new coach has to keep that talent but also get more kids out to play.  The Ads numbers have been low the last few seasons.  The new coach is also going to need to get lots of community members back on board that abandoned ship during the turmoil of the early 2020s.  It won't be an easy job but I don't think things aren't salvageable.

I think Danville could've challenged for a 2A championship this year if all the kids that transferred would've stayed.

I remember the Mark Peach years. Competitive, won the Bob Allen Bowl both years vs local rivals, won a couple playoff games. Even then, people were talking. Now look at things.

On the Quadruple Coverage Facebook group, it appears Kelvin "Dukey" Turner has interest... If Danville will reach out.

No chance they're beating O Cath, Mayfield, or LCA this year. Regardless of who stayed.

Yes they would. Demauriah Brown, Braiden Baughman, Paul Mcclure, Clifton Yocum, Jakeem Ray, Gavin Rodriguez. They would definitely play with Mayfield, LCA but maybe not O Catholic.

Solid line. Good skill kids. Who’s gonna get them the ball? Three good lineman and three good skill kids aren’t gonna put them on those three’s level.

You turn around and hand them the rock.

...and, Jakeem Ray would have been more than adequate at QB.
