Not me. Good luck to the Admirals and whoever takes over. A ton of potential and great administration to work with.

Steve Stonebraker would get a call from me before a few of these names. I also think he would answer.

  • I can probably say with certainty the first 3 won’t even answer. Clevinger is in a better spot, Hawkins is at an athlete rich school with a good paycheck, and Johnson has everything he could ever want

That's a very tough gig.  Danville is loaded with athletes.  Hope they can find someone that will reignite a once incredibly good program.

Admirals haven't won a game since November 4th of 2022. But still one of just seven programs in the state with double-digit titles at 11. The last coming in 2017 with that unbeaten season. Big fall off. Hope someone can revamp this program back to winning ways.

39th on the list of all time wins nationally as of the beginning of 2023. 11 State titles.

Tremendous tradition!

Hopefully the administration finds the right coach and then gives that coach the support this proud program deserves.

Five head coaches, in alphabetical order, that I would at least put a feeler out for:

  • Clay Clevinger (I say this with limited knowledge of the current administration or if he'd even answer)
  • Philip Hawkins (has succeeded everywhere; can Bryan Station do any more?)
  • Dennis Johnson (success at Woodford; strong connections to the area)
  • Doug Preston (successful everywhere; former Danville assistant)
  • Brock Roberts (no knowledge beyond the fact that he seems like a solid young coach)

I feel like Danville has no margin of error with this hire.  It will be the third coach in five years.  They need to swing for the fences and make whatever concessions are needed to get this proud program off the ground.

Parks leaves with an 0-22 record. That correct?

Yes, that is correct.  No wins.

Stonebreaker would be an interesting play.  Anyone that can win at Casey County is immediately someone who could get this situation back on track IMO.

If whoever gets this job can keep the team from transferring over to Boyle then Danville will be back where they should be in a few years imo.

Sad situation at Danville. They cannot miss on this hire. Whatever it takes to get the very best I say do it.

I’m hearing Stonebreaker as a front runner.
