I think this BW team is better than LCA. Their passing game is as smooth as it comes. Their qb looks athletic and he moves his feet really well in the pocket. The receivers run really good routes also. They don’t look as big as they did past couple years but they are legit.

I can see where mayfield can have trouble with them and where they can slow them down. Holding them to a low lopsided score is something I can’t see happening. Unless BW makes mistakes. I love their offense. That offense is a WR’s dream offense to play in, as pass heavy as they are.

Can’t wait for Friday night.

I like Mayfield in this one but I won’t say anything negative about Beechwood. They do it the right way. Thank you for the help during the tornado.

That team 2 years ago was a good 2a team. They just weren’t on the level Beechwood was. It was obvious to me what was going to happen. The teams we don’t want to talk about was 2007, 2008. We had a wealth of talent that couldn’t get along with each other or the coaches and imploded.

The Beechwood team 2 years ago was a product of the Covid hold back rule allowing kids to get an extra year. Several seniors stayed from the previous year state championship team. Mayfield had several under classmen hold back.  Can’t really compare those teams that year because that was an odd deal. This year’s game is going to come down to the line on both sides of the ball. I think Mayfield gets that advantage and I think they will get pressure on QB. They have the guys that can cover also, all over the field. Should be a good game, but I think Mayfield will just out athlete Beechwood. On defense and offense.

Ehhh. Who cares. COVID related extra year players are still playing. All those players then and now are in the same age limit rules that have been here for 50 years. Mayfield has their share. I couldn't care less.

My post was in response to people asking if that was the Mayfield team nobody wants to talk about and that was the worst Mayfield team they had ever seen. That Beechwood team made alot of teams look pedestrian. There have been worse Mayfield teams over the years, but that wasn’t one of them. Let’s get to the Friday night lights!

The COVID excuse is lame as all players had that as a reason to repay the grade they were in. There are players every year that were held back in kindergarten or 1st grade strictly so they’d be the biggest most mature player their senior year. No difference. Beechwood can absolutely light it up through the air, but Mayfield showe last week they can answer right back to a quick score. NKY bias has me picking Beechwood, but there is something to the magic at War Memorial in Mayfield. Happy Thanksgiving and safe travels to all.

Mayfield maybe had 2 the year that BW destroyed us. Everyone else wanted to graduate on time and start college.

Definitely not lame if you barely had any kids that stayed back a year.

From reading all of this, and some of your other posts, I am thinking Beechwood has no chance in this game against Mighty Mayfield.  Is that about right?

Since they have no chance they  should just forfeit without making the trip to save money and a lot of heartache!  ??

Not to get too personal but a lot of the kids here didn’t have the luxury of staying back to play high school ball when you have families that need the extra income. A lot of these families are depending on these 18 year old boys to get out and make something of themselves to help out their families. Football is just an extra bonus around here.

Yummy!!

Speaking of the traditional Pig Roast Fri.  It will go off at 6PM Central.  Donations excepted with 100% of the proceeds being given to families in need.  Fellow BW folks are all welcome to join in.

The 2021 Beechwood team had 1, 5th year senior, Cam Hergott. He was the only 5th year player on that team, and Mayfield has had quite a few players on their roster the last few years that took advantage of the COVID rule as well.

Come on they’re not sharecroppers. What if Newport, Bellevue or Dayton was going down to play? Would that still be a valid excuse? It wasn’t more than 20 years ago the NKY county schools could pull the “the majority of our boys have to go home and work on the farm” card. Everyone had the opportunity to play an extra year via the KHSAA. Some players chose to play some didn’t.

Mayfield had I'd say 6 or 7 players do the covid. Nothing wrong with it, nobodys 20 years old.
