One can take stats and say either team can win this game.  Beechwood more points per game and yards per game.  Mayfield allows less points per game and allows fewer yards per game.  Records of opponents is fairly close with Mayfield's going 70-72 while Beechwood's 68-79, so give Mayfield small advantage here.  Strength of schedule only way I know to judge is by how many of your opponents went to playoffs and how many game in playoff they have won so far, someone else may look at differently.  Beechwood has only had 4 opponents make past 1st round and only 1 make past 2nd round,  CC making to 4th round.  Mayfield has had 4 opponents make into 2nd round, 2 into the 3rd round and PT still in playing 4th round.  Going to give Mayfield advantage here along with home field and trip distance for Beechwood.  I leaning Mayfield by 10 but that is all things being equal in game and that's the reason they play the game.  Either teams turnovers or penalties can hurt them greatly!!  This should be a can't miss game cannot wait till Friday Night.  Good luck to both!

I like Mayfield in this one but I won’t say anything negative about Beechwood. They do it the right way. Thank you for the help during the tornado.

Your use of playoff results to judge strength of schedule is a poor way to judge it, but I agree Mayfield's overall schedule was more difficult than Beechwood's. Not by much though.

Up until last week I would strongly disagree.  Now I think it is about even.

Mayfield wasn't suppose to win the game against LCA and if we go by what's being said by the majority on here it's an uphill battle for Beechwood. Beechwood can win this game just like Mayfield won last week's game. If Mayfield thinks all they got to do is show up, then it could be along night for the Cards. If Mayfield plays a clean game then I really like their chances.

I don't see it the same way.  I agree on perception with LCA over Mayfield but I think the shoe is on the other foot now with the perception being Mayfield over Beechwood.

I think Beechwood is going to have to play their best game of the season and not turn the ball over to win.

Beechwood's passing game is far more advanced than most high schools and certainly much more so than anyone Mayfield has faced.

Speaking of Murray, why did Mayfield struggle in that game?  I still can't figure that one out.

Because Murray had 2 wideouts that were 6’5” and 6’6”. Several times our db’s got their hands on the ball and they still caught it.

In answer to your other question, in this one I don’t feel the Tigers have much of a chance outside getting multiple turnovers. Don’t say anything about the color of my glasses though. Two years ago I refused to make the drive to Beechwood because I saw what was coming.

Was that the Mayfield team that no one in Mayfield wanted to talk about?

I agree. If we're going by whats being written on here. As we all know, sometimes things don't go as planned.

The 5 district opponents Beechwood must play are the difference and a big part of why this game is in Mayfield, not Ft. Mitchell. In their previous district Beechwood had 3 district games which allowed Beechwood to schedule two additional RPI boosting games.

Wasn't a bad team, they just weren't on par with Beechwood.

I agree. D.Heights is a lot better than their record shows and S Kenton is a pretty good team. also. On Mayfield's side, Graves Co was better than most thought and Henderson Co was not a cake walk. Personally, neither schedule was head and shoulders above the other and I doubt it has any bearing on friday's outcome.

I agree.

It was the worst Mayfield team I have seen play but they were still decent.

Last night, I got on the internet and watched the Beechwood vs Cov Cath game. I may be in the majority here, but, I felt like Beechwood was every bit as good as CC, maybe even a little better. They were impressive.

Beechwood was impressive against Covington Catholic but CCH showed in the 2nd half they were the better team.

Mayfield was really young that year and Beechwoods defense was as strong as I've seen in several years. They were nasty and tough and just smothered most offenses they played.
