Great win for the Rebels.  I can say without a doubt that it’s going to have to be a really good team to beat LCA the rest of this year.  They to me have to be the favorite to win 2A.

  • LCA’s defense played BG well against the run allowing 31 yards. Letting up over 250 yards of rushing against Boyle cannot be categorize as good.    I watched at least 1 game of all the big 3 in

Finally got to watch early in the 4th quarter. Bottom line, Boyle is Boyle. It's going to take an outstanding effort to beat them. That said, LCA had their chances...but Boyle just wears everyone

I think he was trying to punch the ball out but hit Quisenberry and they said that Quisenberry kick the guy has he was getting up.

I seen where someone said that they're surprised that Boyle plays that many players both ways.  Not one Boyle player had a stoppage for a cramp the entire game.  Boyle's conditioning has always been superb!  LCA had quite a few players with cramps tonight in the second half and 3-4 times multiple players at the same time.   Big WIN Rebels!

I think this was the difference in the game.  You could tell late in the 3rd and into the 4th quarter that LCA was worn out.

As long as Boley keeps throwing interceptions, the risk of an unexpected loss or losing a close matchup versus a tough opponent is there. Last year he was 4th in the state in interceptions thrown with 15. After 3 tonight (easily could have been 4), he is on pace to exceed that this year. Turnovers are the key stat in a football game. LCA offense is creative and gets receivers open and one on one matchups in space. Their o-line is doing a great job protecting Boley. They will put up points but turnovers can derail that.

It was me. I thought the speed of the 1st half could wear them down. Most teams it would of. Hats off to Boyle.

If there’s one thing you aren’t allowed to be when you play for Boyle, it’s tired. You can be hurt or make mistakes but you cannot be tired.

Very impressed with the LCA offense! Very entertaining game to watch! This game will make both teams better moving forward.

I agree.  Boyle learned a lot from this game that will make them better down the road.

No. The thing that I was looking for only happened clearly on one set of downs. The ones where LCA turned the ball over on downs when Boley was stopped on a QB run.

The stick that signifies the line to gain for a first down seemed to be spotted a yard short. Boley made it past the stick, but when the chain was stretched out he was short. Even on the play before the runner thought he had a first down when he jumped up, because he was very near the stick...again the stick was a yard short of an actual first down. I may be seeing it wrong, but the rest of the game it never looked short of 10 yards.

I'm not saying that it was intentional at all and I'm not accusing anyone of shenanigans. If the QB looks over at the sticks and the first down stick is sitting on the 25, I could see him just trying to get across that line thinking that was all he needed.

In going back I also noticed one team was offsides on nearly every kickoff, in one case it looked like 4 players crossed the line before the ball was struck.

Once the chains are set after a new first down, there is a clip that is clipped on the backside of the closest "hard" yard line.  20, 25, 30.... which ever is closest to the first stick.  After that players running on and off the field kick the chains, coaches get in the way, players fall out of bounds etc....  You try to put them back where you were but sometimes it's hard on the fly.  Then whenever a measurement is needed the officials use the clip to establish where the chains were originally set.  The crew tries to get things set back to the original placement as best as can be telling the opposite stick to "pull it tight" again and things like that but they get knocked and moved around quite a bit.  Especially if it's a good, close, fast paced game.  I've never known anyone to purposefully set the sticks short so the players think the 1st down is shorter than it appears.

I tend to agree with this. Boyle is very very good and LCA is very good as well. But I also think Boyle has plenty to work on.

Giving up 50 points per game makes them the favorite in 2A?

                                                Joke.

Many a truth said in jest.

In LCAs defense.. of their defense.. probably played 2 of the top 5 offenses in the state their first two games.

What's going to happen when in 2A playoffs, they play a team of equal offense as in the first two games but that team have better defense. I do believe Mayfield and Beechwood will have good enough offenses to put up points and will have better defenses from what I've seen in their first two opponents...I was not impressed with BG or BC defense...Beechwood slowed down in 2 straight championship games LCAs offense, Mayfield done the same in playoffs last year. LCA again is relying too much on their offensive power which can lead to more interceptions and loses in playoffs and championship games.
