Hughes out of Cincinatti, Ohio will be traveling down the long and tuff road to play the Corbin Redhounds on Friday 8 P.M. The Redhounds are in the process of completing a 9.5 milliion dollar stadium to put turf down over the grass. The game will be moved to the Cumberland College Football Field in Williamsburg due to construction of new stadium and turf field. Hughes is coming off of a 6-4 regular season last year. Corbin on the other hand is coming off an impressive 14-1 season with the only loss in the championship game of the 4A title game to Boyle County by a score of 32-26. Corbin has high expectations in returning to Kroger Field in 2023. Corbin is returning Kade Elam at QB and if you haven't seen this kid play, you might want to buy plenty of popcorn.  They return plenty of fire power on the receiving corp. Keep your eyes on Eli Pietrowski, Zander Curry and Carter Stewart.  During the off season, they have added some Somerset Transfers being Guy Bailey at RB and on the defensive side of the ball the Twins formerly of Somerset. Jacob and Jerod Smith. Two 4 star prospects that will make opposing offenses second guess there play calling. I think Corbin is the favorite in this mathup. What do you think?

Corbin should roll here. Too many good players. On paper, Hughes is a middle of the pack team in Ohio. Running back TJ Engleman is the one to watch for the Big Red. He's an FBS commit to East Carolina. But I'll take Corbin's many over Hughes' one.

Hughes ranked 64th in Division 3 of Ohio in preseason Calpreps rankings so I'll pick Corbin by 28.

Have the Smith Twins been ruled eligibility yet? It sounded on KSR as if it's still up in the air.

No they’re not. Their dad said in an article if they’re not eligible they’ll just move back. If they are eligible then the wife will move closer.

Who is living in KY with the twins? It sounds like mom isn't in KY. Is dad? Or are the twins living with grandparents?

Living with Guy Bailey. 

The grandmother lives in Somerset they are living with Guy Bailey everything about this transfer is illegal. They have played 4 years of high school ball and did not apply for Covid year. The law on that states that they had to apply by June the first of the Covid year and they had to apply at the school they were enrolled at. That paperwork was never submitted to Somerset. If they are eligible it opens the door for people that have graduated just to come in and play an additional year.

Plus I would say none of those rules matter when Vince morrow and mark stoops calls Somerset asking them not to put in against them getting eligible because they wanted them to flip their comments from Michigan to Kentucky. I would say the next call was to the KHSAA.
