They like the Calipari Model at Danville Schools

Given the, well, dissatisfaction among the Danville community, I would curious that if the right super was hired, would they re-evaluate the current state of the football program?

Source for this?  I haven't seen it anywhere yet.  There was no indication that this was coming at the board meeting two days ago so I'm shocked by this.

Local Danville media have reported it on Social media.

Larry Vaught mentioned it on Twitter yesterday.  

I'm far from in the know on Danville's superintendent situation but from fifteen miles away it seems like they are always hiring someone from somewhere else. In certain situations that can be good. However, the turnover has been very high of late and everything feels chaotic. I know Bob Rowland isn't walking through that door, but is there someone with Danville ties who could help stem the tide a bit? Stop compounding bad decisions with bad decisions.

Next year will make five superintendents since the 2016-2017 school term (one of those was an interim).  It's really tough to build much with that rate of turnover.  From the last board meeting it was reported that average daily attendance for the district was down 9% or so, which also is not a good sign as that impacts funding.

Danville has to get this next hire right.  They cannot afford for it to go sideways.

Right now it seems sideways May be an improvement.

Coach ED McKinney should be the next Danville Superintendent. Been at the school for over 35 years, knows everything about the School System, has been the principal there before. Great guy and great family! Home run hire. 

What is going on in Danville? Use to be that the ADs were a Top 10 program regardless of Class each year. Yeah I get it, Boyle Co. Never use to be like that. Someone was okay along the way just letting Kids walk across town to be a Rebel. At some point you have to find someone to stop them at the Crosswalk. Sound like the Admis at Danville have failed their School.

It was great for Danville when they were getting the Boyle Co. kids. Now the shoe is on the other foot and now the Admiral faithful think that is terrible even to the point where they might stop playing the Rebels. This is not hear say, it came from a Danville administrator.

Ending that game would be ironic because rumor has it that one of the reasons Clevenger was let go was cancelling that game during the COVID year.

The Ads make too much money off of that game to not schedule it so it would hurt them more than Boyle, who I'm sure might like the idea of opening up another slot in their schedule for a top ranked program.

I honestly think this hire for Superintendent has a LOT riding on it.  If Danville misses the mark again, I'm not sure they survive.
