Just like CovCath people thought Crone was going there last year to?

I was asking whether that was true or false.

And if you're left believing that there was no discussion with the Crone family about Chase attending Cov Cath, then you aren't as informed about your 'Neers as you think you are.

I have been following Bluegrass preps since my oldest was in high school. I comment here and there but to be honest I have never witnessed any adults talking about a kids faith.  I'm Chasity Harney.

  • @Cov_Cath_Hwy put it perfectly.  It is more than just a football team, basketball team, soccer etc.  It is a brotherhood there.  As new classes come in and senior classes depart, that brotherhood migh

It’s official and really has been for some time, for the next 2 seasons at least The Colonels will drop down to 4A.  Hopefully this means we will see a schedule some time in the next few weeks.

The drop to 4A may be a hindrance in finding games, but the current Athletic Department does not procrastinate in schedule setting in any sport.

Highlands 2023 schedule dropped today and has the showdown with the Colonels on August 25th.  As far as I can recall this is the earliest they have matched up since maybe the 1988 season….in that game, still played on a Friday night at CCH in August at 5:30 PM racing to beat the darkness, CCH came back in the second half after being down 21 I believe, to win it when the Colonels made a switch at QB and brought in highly touted Jr. QB Paul Hladon to spark a furious rally.  It was something like that…..

@Colonels_Wear_Blue can fill the blanks if I am off I am sure.

Anyone hearing anything on the Colonels schedule drop?  Should be very soon I would think.

That was an awesome game!  I was at that game, and you are one of the few people I have interacted with to remember it being a Friday night game too.   If your memory is off, then so is mine.  Down 21 at halftime is what I remember too.  Of course, I was only 14 and my mind wasn't completely on the game.

There as well, my Freshman year…..and it was Bedlam in the stands as He led that comeback.  and I can just remember every 2 seconds checking on the Sun as we were losing light and they had announced that OT may not be possible….best atmosphere ever

I see Highlands plays LexCath to start the year. I wonder if CCH will continue to play LexCath. That would be a tough opening schedule for LexCath to play both  Highlands and CCH to start the year.

If I had to guess what the schedule is this year. I know these are the teams, so no Lex Cath or GCL school this year, essentially an all NKY Schedule. Not exactly sure on who is playing where or the exact order aside from Ryle starting the year off, Highlands 2, and Campbell finishing it off. Also not sure where the bye is going to be, I just threw it in there.

My Educated Guess:
1) Ryle

2) at Highlands

3) SK

4) at Dixie

5) at Beechwood

6) Holmes

7) at Mason Co.

? BYE

9) Harrison

10) at Grant Co.

11) Campbell Co.

If those are really all the teams were scheduling, I'll assume that was EE looking to put together a schedule where he can continue to do nothing but call QB draws and screen passes but still win games.

I don't think I've seen a more boring schedule since the mid 80's.

You can say that again!

I don't know much about what Cov. Cath. this coming season, but I sure am excited to hear Michael Mayer's name called in the NFL draft!  He's an awesome TE and I think he will have a successful NFL career.

Man I hope not. I don't know how all of the NKY teams are looking for next year, but this is looking like 9-1 at worst with Highlands being a toss up. We don't have to schedule Elder again, but we need a little more competition on the schedule to get ready to go play against Boyle/Corbin/maybe JC in the playoffs.

The 2nd half of the season is really weak and will end up hurting us going into the  post season. I don't like it. Of course being in this new class /district will hurt us the most. Probably be running clocks in every first half of each district game.
