Baseball is over now and everyone should be in the weight room getting ready for Football. How are the Hounds looking? I have heard some positive comments . . . any specifics?

Has anyone else heard talk of a lineman coming from Knoxville? That seems to be the word around town this week.

Yes. The boys father works at CSX and has been commuting with his son since last year. They had a coaching change and he is considering coming to Corbin. He is reported to be around 6'4" and 325lbs. (Muscle no fat!) There Knoxville team won the state championship. He will be a senior. No word yet whether he will come but his dad has been talking to the coaches as recently as this week.:jump:

I do know that Coach Hilton really wants to play this game. Coach Jewell is the problem I assume. I know Jewell and Hilton arent the best of friends right now, but they should atleast allow the kids from their schools to play each other. It is not about Coach Jewell or Coach Hilton, its about the players.

LMB, Better watch yourself. A few of these Hound fans black-balled me months ago for calling out Jewell on dumping Bell County. You are on target, he is the reason the game isn't being played, and I stick by my statements when I say he is being selfish.

Nonetheless, Corbin has a good team and should contend for a spot in the Pizza Box.

Does anyone know if Ryan Amburgey has been cleared to play by the KHSAA? It seems like a no-brainer that he would be cleared...............but you never know.

Ryan has been working in the weight room with the football team. I assume this means he has been cleared and will play . . . but sometimes assumption can get a person in trouble.:D

Who is Amburgey? Where did he come from?

Ryan Amburgey moved from Corbin while in the middle school and has now moved back. I think he played at Pendleton Co. last year.

I hope they rule in his favor, he was a hard nosed football player in the midle school, can't wait to see him now.

Isn't Somerset on Corbin's schedule this year?

Yes, I am pretty sure that Somerset is the 10th team on the schedule. I have heard people say Danville a lot but I think that was more because Danville was one of the teams initially invited to Pigskin but replaced by Dunbar. Correct me if I'm wrong. Does anyone know which games are home and away? I heard Middlesboro was on the road again this year. Also what about Bethlehem?

I do believe that Somerset does play Corbin this year at Corbin.
