2007 Corbin

Will Freeman get a shot at QB or will he have to wait, if his arm improves he could make a better QB, because he is a better athlete and can get away from pressure.

Do you actually believe that he could beat Cashen out at QB? Freeman is a good CB and I expect him to stay on that side of the ball, maybe throughout his high school years.

I just don't see cashen as one of the best in state, more less one of the best in the southeast region. A good high school QB yes, we have had much better at that position. I believe Williard has made him look alot better than he is, and Coach could do the same with Freeman or Duncum.

Cashen is the best passing QB that I have ever seen at Corbin. There are some areas that he needs to improve on and I'm sure that playing three sports makes it hard to find time to do it.

I would like to see him have the option of checking out of plays at the line of scrimmage next year, something that I believe that he has not had the option of doing in the past.

Who are some of the ones that were much better? You are talking about Corbin, not Bell Co...............right?

I think Cashen has the QB spot locked up and with great reason. I'm not coach Jewell so I obviously don't have the say so in that but if he's not the starting QB considering he's one of if not the best in the state, I'd be shocked.

I think next year could prove to be a good battle. Roman Mitchell will be a sophomore and have a year behind Cashen and you also have the Duncum kid who is very talented.

I thought Mitchell was just going to be a freshman. Am I wrong?

Do players actually get to try out for positions or are they already decided before the season starts? If players are allowed to actually try out for positions I bet you would be surprised at the untapped talent that might just surface.

Yes, Mitchell will be a freshman this season. Sorry for the confusion. I always refer to the upcoming season as "this season" since the season starts right after the last game in Corbin and then next year as "next season".

Clint Cashen is one of the best in the state at what he does if not the best. Roman Mitchell is a good athlete, but his arm does not compare to cashens. Cashen is also a very smart player Mitchell still working on reading coverages. As far as Freeman goes he will stay on the other side of the football for the same reason as Roman, hes just not half the qb that Clint is. GO HOUNDS.

Well put!

Clint's the starter, Roman's the future, and Lance will be one heckuva DB!

I have been told that Corbin will be very good in 07.

They should be very, very good.

I know when Cashen was a freshman he had the option of checking out of plays at the line, of course that was with a different group of receivers.

Roman has alot of growing up to do as a freshman clint was alot more advanced coming into his freshman year. But I know this after Clint is gone If lance don't get his shot Roman will have some stiff competion from Travis smith who wii be freshman Romans soph more year.Smith is will be in the 8th this year and he reminds me alot of Clint at this age should be fun for a while in corbin football.I think this will be a great year with many to follow the young kids are there.Don't be surprised to see Roman to play some wide out next year or saftey.

I understand that middlesboro quaterback is a senior and will be leaving this year, who will cashen go up against in 2007?

I think he still does I've also know he can call his own plays if he see's something he thinks that works.

Are there any sophomores who may be big contributors next year? If so, who are they and what positions will they hold?
